Jodu Ella Waterfall
The twin falls of Jodu Ella Falls, have identical lengths (45m) and cascade simultaneously from both ends of the mountain into the Mahaweli River via the Hulu Ganga River. The Moragaha River is the source, which springs from Me Malai, part of the Knuckles mountain range

5.00I had an incredible experience hiking the 5 Peaks in the Knuckles with Sumeda. This was one of the most rewarding and memorable adventures of my trip to Sri Lanka. The landscape is absolutely stunning, and I especially loved experiencing Sri Lanka’s native forests up close. The biodiversity in this region is remarkable, and Sumeda brought it all to life with his deep knowledge of the plants, wildlife, and ecosystem. I learned so much along the way, which made the hike feel even more meaningful. The hike itself is no joke. It is very strenuous, but in the best possible way. Every step felt like an accomplishment, and the views along the way made it completely worth the effort. Sumeda is an exceptional guide. He is incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and clearly passionate about the environment and sharing it with others. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a true adventure and a deeper connection to Sri Lanka’s natural beauty.

5.00Just had a brilliant days walking in Knuckles mountain range. Our guide was Sumeda and he was absolutely fantastic. So knowledgeable about the area and Sri Lankan history. I did the walk with my daughter and we both felt safe at all times, he was very supportive and happy to go at our pace. He also took some amazing photos for us. It really was a super experience. I could not recommend Sumeda enough.

5.00My friend and I had a super day with Roshan. We made it to the third knuckle and enjoyed a fantastic view. Our guide (Roshan) shared knowledge of the plants, animals and answered all our questions. On a sunny day in March we saw very few tourists on the way. Expect to spend roughly 12-13 hours back and forth from Kandy

5.00Sumeda is an excellent guide with truly impressive knowledge of the Knuckles Range and the surrounding area. It’s also clear that he has a genuine respect for nature and understands the importance of protecting it. He took us on a beautiful trek called the “5 Peaks,” which was a fantastic experience. We felt very safe and comfortable with him throughout the hike. He was happy to answer all of our questions, whether they were about the trek or other topics as well (I’m a curious person 🙂). He also took some lovely photos of my husband and me and showed us many interesting plants and animals along the way. I would definitely go on another trek with Sumeda!

His passion for his work, his in-depth knowledge of the area, and his attention and sensitivity towards us participants transformed a pleasant day immersed in the lush nature of Sri Lanka into an adventurous unforgettable day, enlivened by stories and, above all, by the delicious lunch prepared by his wife. 5.00My wife and I booked the hike to rhe Knuckles mountains without knowing what to expect. We were introduced to our guide Sumeda, who is a source of all kind of information about the fauna and flora during the trip. Although my wife had some difficulties due to the intense hike, Sumeda took care of her with caring and patience. The tegion is really wonderfull to explore. A must see and do, with the expertise of the guide ! We had a great time even we did not reached the top.

Unique experience despite the unfavorable weather

5.00The weather did not help us, we started with rain wind and fog that increased in the path. Despite this, beautiful experience through a path made of different landscapes... forest, waterfalls .. a paradise. Sumeda our guidance was crucial. Person prepared empathetic and friendly showed us many varieties of plants, animals, flowers, explaining in a precise but never boring a "world" so special Unesco heritage. The route is certainly challenging but Sumeda has always helped me overcome the most difficult parts of the trail, with care and attention. He had prepared for us a packed lunch that we enjoyed very much .. If you are going to visit the mountains of Knukles arm yourself with good hiking shoes and rely on Sumeda, he is a special person who has guided us at best in this not easy but worth all the effort. Thanks for ❤️
