Mt. Rokko
Mount Rokko (六甲山, Rokkōsan, 931 meters) is the highest peak in the Rokko mountain range, which provides the pleasant green backdrop to the city of Kobe. Panoramic views of the heavily urbanized Hanshin region (Kobe and Osaka) can be enjoyed from the mountain and are particularly spectacular around sunset.
Shin-Kobe Trail
Shin-Kobe Ropeway (新神戸ロープウェー) is one of three services that lifts tourists up the southern slopes of the Rokko mountain chain. The ropeway departs from next to Shin-Kobe Station, Kobe's shinkansen station. As it ascends, it passes by the Nunobiki Waterfall and the Nunobiki Herb Garden, giving a nice aerial view of both. The highlight of the ride lies in the observation deck located just beside the top station, which offers spectacular views of Kobe and is a popular night view spot.

I had a wonderful time riding the ropeway to the top of the Mt. and walking through the garden. They had a fragrance room where you could sample so many different scents . After that we walked through the Kitano-ljikan district and visited the Weathercock and Moegi Houses homes of foreign merchants and diplomats. Our last stop was the Ikuta Shrine. Yama taught me the steps of the ritual of prayer at the temple and how one can pray for and show thankfulness for blessings I had a wonderful day and thank Yama for being an excellent guide and teaching me some of Japanese culture and history.

We thought Norio was very nice and enjoyed Kobe. I rated him only four stars as we were not able understand a lot of his english.

Yama was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable on the sites that we saw and he also told funny stories on some of the sites. His English is very good and we had a great time with him. He also recommended a Kobe beef restaurant which had incredible tasty beef.

Chiyuki was a wonderful guide. She was very knowledgeable and extremely well organized. She as a very kind persona and made sure we watched our steps when pavement was uneven or a step unexpected. She knew so much about the sake brewing processes and showed us the old tools used. She made sure we knew where the shuttle bus stop was located so we could get back to the ship. An excellent guide.

Our guide Yama was excellent. Very knowledgeable on the sites and tells funny stories on some places. Highly recommend him if visiting Kobe. Even found us a restaurant to try some Kobe beef. It was incredible! There was lots of walking, but nothing too bad.

Norio-san was interesting because he had a lot of related knowledge. The route was very appropriate. He was older than me, but he worked hard in the hot weather.

Phenomenal half day tour in Kobe! The tour started with a rope way ascent to see Nunobiki Herb Garden atop a mountain. There were beautiful flower arrangements and shops to smell various herb products. Next we went to Chinatown (Nankinmachi) which was the best Chinatown I've ever visited (including SF and NY) to enjoy Kobe beef and xiao long boa (soup dumplings). Our tour guide, Yama was wonderful! He showed us all the sites and provided many historical facts and tourist tips! He was even so kind to allow us to postpone the trip by a day last minute due to rain. Yama ended the tour with a great explanation of a market beneath a department store and a quick shopping tour on our way back to the train station. Highly recommended this tour!
