Also, the village shows various places with unique features such as a farming village, private house, official districts, Confucian academy, seodang (village school), and a village street in realistic descriptions, as well as, a nobleman’s house and traditional workshop. Performances including Nongak (farmer’s music), martial art on horseback, traditional wedding ceremony, and other special events are available by season. In particular, ‘Welcome to Joseon’, held every May, is a performance featuring time travel back to the olden days.

We thoroughly enjoyed this long tour, and our tour guide Gina just made it much more enjoyable. We learned a lot from her about the histories of both places (traditional folk village and the fortress). Additionally, the traditional performance at 11am was just so beautiful. One suggestion to the tour company is the give more time at the fortress (it was a large area to cover) and less time (30 mins instead of 1.5 hours). Gina took great carefoenall of us the whole time so five stars to her. A++++

Great experience visiting Korean Folk Village and the fortress. An added special performance of the traditional music and hanbok dress-up in the cultural center was a wonderful addition to the tour that truly stood out. Julie is a great guide, engaging and informative. Multiple pick-up points are conveniently located. Overall, a highlight of our trip and a great value.
