Discover Plaszow camp with a local guide: few remains survive, but Schindler’s story and a unique space for reflection bring history alive.
Highlights:
• Take a comprehensive tour of the Plaszow Concentration Camp
• Remember the victims of the Holocaust at the camp's memorials
• Learn where the Schindler's List film was filmed
• Route paced for reflection, not rush
Unlike sites filled with preserved buildings, Plaszow offers open ground, silence, and space for thought. With few physical remains, it is a place of memory rather than spectacle—an intimate setting to confront history, honor the victims, and reflect.

Known then as Plac Zgody, the square was the logistical heart of the Kraków ghetto: control, registry, and departure point for transports. After the war it was renamed Ghetto Heroes Square in remembrance.
Plaszow Concentration Camp
Plaszow Camp was created by the Nazi German occupiers in October 1942 on the grounds of two Jewish cemeteries in Krakow. It began as a forced-labor camp for Jews from the liquidated Krakow ghetto; from July 1943 it also held Poles in a penal-labor section. In January 1944 it was redesignated a concentration camp and, later that year, it also functioned as a transit camp for Hungarian Jews being sent onward to Auschwitz. Over its existence, more than 35,000 people were imprisoned here and around 6,000 were murdered. Executions took place at several sites within the camp; today mass graves and memorials mark the landscape.

Having watched Schindler’s List, this trip showed how the film followed the story and with our tour guide this was achieved and more. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and interesting which made our trip a day to remember, we have been passing the details on to people we met in Krakow and family since being home !!!!

This tour was incredibly informative. The guide took us on a tram from Heros square to Plasow en though a lot of the original features had gone we were shown a lot of things that remain and were shown pictures from when it was standing.

Have done many walking tours in Krakow over the years, but never one like this. So informative and a part of Krakow you may miss - but it shouldn't be forgotten! Micheal was our guide and so passionate about the subject. Learned so much in the 2.5 hours we were with him. Highly recommend this tour and one you won't regret doing.

We had Barbara as our tour guide, and she was just amazing. Very knowledgeable and friendly. She guided us from the Heroes Plaza to the Płaszów labor camp. The entire time, she was giving us information, showing us pictures, and answering any questions we had. It is definitely a very educational tour

A very interesting walking tour. Our tour guide Phil was very knowledgable and took his time to show us all the main sites of the camp and explain in great detail what happened. This is a most do tour if your interested in the history of plashov Concentration camp and keen to see some of the sites where the Schindler list film was made. Wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking. 5 star all round.
