Kuldiga should be on the ‘must see’ list for everyone! The city center with the widest waterfall of Europe is so impressive that even fish start to fly! No joking, in the spring vimbas swim against the current across the waterfall and it looks like they are flying. During the city tour you will see Duke’s Pharmacy, the former Kuldiga burgomaster Stefenhagens’ house, the Town Hall Square with the former Town Hall building and the present Town Hall.

If you’re into history, this is a good place to visit. Lots of interesting alleys, buildings, walkways, all surrounded by buildings that survived the invaders. We spent time just slowly driving around, enjoying the scenery. It’s a fun town to explore. But don’t be fooled, it’s not a small village. There is a lot to it, and it’s not all old. Take in the Old Town for a nice stroll, window shopping, and a meal.

We had a day tour of the charming historic Kuldiga, a UNESCO Heritage Site, with the best tour guide, Valdes, who clearly loves his job & is very knowledgeable & well educated. If you like a fantastic combo of nature & old world charm, then this is right on the money as you'll see Europe's widest waterfall & the preserved charm of an old town.

There isn’t much extraordinary to see in this town. It got included as a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of the preserved state of its old architecture from 1,200+, including German and Swedish elements. But there isn’t anything you can not find elsewhere, at considerable less time spent.

The guide was extremely helpful and informative - offering a rest stop along the way, suggestions for meals and additional view points. The guide provided excellent explanations about the history of Kuldiga. I enjoyed walking across Venta falls, climbing the lookout tower (both these were suggestions by the guide) and seeing the old buildings (untouched after several wars). The car was comfortable.

Kulgiga was a medieval idyll and still is today! Here was the Castle of the Teutonic Order next to the Venta river's wide waterfall, and the castle is now a hill with a City Park around it. The city has maintained its character throughout the last century. As a Baltic guide, I highlight Kuldiga as the most interesting city in the Baltics!

An excellent day trip to the picturesque village of Kuldiga that has plenty to offer. Including a compelling history, the Live Museum, waterfalls, the 3rd largest brick bridge in Europe, Sculpture Gardens, great coffee & resturants. All made even more enjoyable by a top notch tour guide Valdis.
