What To Expect
Your cheerful master class begins with a pick-up from your accommodation. Thereafter, a friendly hostess will welcome you and introduce you to the tradition of making Easter Eggs. Pysanka is a cornerstone and a symbol of Ukrainian culture. Ukrainians decorate Easter eggs with symbolic images of the sun, stars, flowers and animals. The tradition dates back and originates from a pre-Christian era. Pysanka is believed to bring happiness and prosperity to people. You will learn the meaning of the symbols used for the decoration of pysanka, as well as find out its main colors – yellow, red, green, blue and black. To create an Easter egg, the traditional Ukrainian way, you will need wax, fire and water. The ornament of your pysanky depends solely on you, however you may find inspiration from the unique collection of Easter eggs your master will show you at the workshop. At the end of the class you will have a unique hand-made souvenir that will always remind you of your visit of Ukraine. After the class your driver will take you back to your hotel or apartment.

5.00This was a wonderful excursion which was a fun activity with a glimpse into a culture different from ours. We were met at our hotel by the guide, who drove us by private car to the artist's home where we learned about painting eggs, had tea and snacks, purchased professionally painted eggs, and enjoyed a wonderful conversation. Afterwards, the guide dropped us off at our requested destination. This is a fun activity for all ages, not simply children.

5.00We were in Kiev for four days and we all felt this workshop was the highlight of our holiday! We were picked up right at our hotel by a very knowledgeable guide who spoke great English. We were taken about 20 min from the city into a residential apartment area that we were interested in seeing as it was clearly a local Ukrainian town. The Master also spoke good English so we understood her easily as she explained each step and guided us as we designed and created our own eggs. The master also treated us to a cup of tea and homemade cake. We all left feeling we had met a true Ukrainian and with a beautiful reminder of our trip to Kiev. Would highly suggest this tour. If I ever go back I would absolutely do this again.
