Was such a fun experience. The dudes helping were so awesome and such a vibe. Even explaining the reason behind the specific wood choice. And making us take time to enjoy the aroma of the bare wood. Making sure that we hadn’t compromised the chopsticks we were making in anyway. 100%reccomend

My partner and I decided on a whim to do this workshop, and it was honestly one of my favorite things I’ve done in Japan! If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind experience in Kyoto, and you want to take a break from all the walking, this is the place for you! It was such a light atmosphere, and the workers were entertaining, curious about our individual backgrounds, and knowledgeable about Japan and the history of chopsticks — all while working everyone through the steps to make their pair of chopsticks, engraving them, etc. 10/10 experience and recommend for anyone looking to get out of the sun (or in our case the rain) and create your own souvenir.
