This is a fabulous tour. We walked around the Gion area learning about the lanterns, the etiquette and the journey to becoming a Geisha. We enjoyed meeting the mother of the house who organises the maiko’s lives. Our guide was fabulous.

This was my favorite group tour in Japan. In spite of pouring rain, Harumi kept us on pace to see the historic geisha area of Kyoto. What a fascinating place in our modern world. But the best part was the entertainment provided by the tea shop owner, a former geisha, and the maiko. I would have gone for the kimonos alone. These are women who are trained to tell stories, provide relaxation and do it in a way that is old fashioned in the best sense.

Great geisha experience and tour. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Koyto. Our guide, Annie was excellent. She spoke very good English and was very knowledgeable of the area and the geisha culture

1 hr+ walk around Gion with minimal info, then a 30 min boring presentation by the Geisha madam. The performance by the Maiko was pretty good. Over-priced.

Absolutely enjoyed this tour, our tour guide "AKIKO" was fantastic, she knew everything and provided us with an amazing insight into the culture of the Maiko/Geiko. Thank you so much :-) it was favourite part of Kyoto.

Small group of 12 were guided through the Gion geisha district by our wonderful guide, Ayu, before being entertained by a Maiko geisha at a tea house. Ayu has a great command of the English language, speaking loudly and clearly to share her in depth knowledge of the world of the geisha.

Great walking tour with super knowledgeable guide (Annie was great and speaks English incredibly well) followed by a fascinating geisha performance and talk. The first half was a tour around Gion where we learned so much about geisha and the area. The second half was at a teahouse where we heard from the geisha boarding house 'mother' for 45 minutes (translated) then watched a geisha performance and listened to her answers to various questions. Really interesting afternoon and would recommend! Our only complaint was that it was a bit difficult for half the guests who had to sit on the floor for 90 minutes.

I highly recommend this tour. Walking through Kyoto through the eyes of a Geisha was very interesting. The performance and the discussion with the Geishas was enlightening and entertaining.

I am so glad I booked this tour. We first walked through geisha districts and nice informative tour. Then 1.5 hours to go to a tea house, then geisha owner told us about the culture and of her adventures as a geisha. Then there was a beautiful dance by a maiko, then you could ask her questions about what it was like to train. A unique experience. Highly worth it if you want to understand the geisha culture.
