The first place we went to was awesome, and the second two were really lack-luster. Not worth $167 per person. The second place offered a sake flight and a choice between shishimi or tempura or karage. It was ok. The third place was the dessert location and we were the only people there (tells you something). I would have rather had a lower price than go to that place and get tea and a little cookie.

We sampled great food that we normally wouldn't have ordered. Also, we are a family of 6 and it may have been hard to find a restaurant to seat all of us at one time. Our guide was very pleasant and she was knowledgeable about the Gion and Pontocho districts as well as the food we were eating.

Shun was a great host and tour guide! Highly recommend. We enjoyed a traditional Japanese meal with 5 courses, and two stops at local bars that also provided delicious food.

Great guide, she was kind, knowledgeable and just the right amount of sharing information and letting group socialise. Great food, great variety with casual and upper end and hreat saki tasting experience. Thank you.

Yumi’s an awesome tour guide! From beginning to end of the Food Tour she “fed us” more information about Kyoto than we ever expected to learn. We loved the places Yumi arranged for the group for food and drink tastings, especially the traditional Japanese style dinner. Yumi, we learned miso soup should be served at the end of meal and thank you for teaching us when in Japan how to pronounce Cost-T-co!😉

This tour was a fantastic way to learn about both Kyoto and Japanese cuisine. Emma was wonderful—knowledgeable, friendly, and full of great recommendations for the rest of our time in the city.

Wonderful food, hospitality and informative guide. We loved our guide and felt like we having dinner with a good friend at the end of the night. More than enough food and drinks are included, you will not leave hungry!

The guide was professional and very kind. He accompanied us through the streets of Kyoto Gjion telling us about their culture and describing their cuisine very well on this good level food tour to 3 different places where we tried different traditional dishes. Recommended

The food was excellent and we went to places that we would never have found ourselves!! It was lovely that Miyabi ate dinner with us as well because it felt less like we were zoo animals being watched and more like a social evening which was very relaxed and natural! Miyabi was wonderful too and her English is excellent so no worries there! If you are offered plum wine with soda, you have to try it!!
