We loved the experience, it was very unique. It felt very meditative and rewarding. We learned a lot about the story behind the matcha and the step-by-step way the ceremony takes place. Maya was very attentive to all the questions we had and was very kind to us. I would repeat this experience as much as possible. Millions of thanks to matcha fatory kyoto.

My partner and I traveled to Kyoto over the winter holidays and absolutely loved this class. We enjoyed the short history lesson of the origins of tea ceremonies and where samurais fit into the picture. The matcha was delicious and we certainly left the course with a little bit of a caffeine buzz that was surely welcomed after a long morning of walking. We highly recommend this class for matcha and tea lovers!

I wasn't sure what to expect coming to this, but Maya was so attentive as she went through the process. She talked to us about the history of the tea ceremony, before demonstrating it fully. It was so peaceful, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone. Plus you get to drink matcha throughout!

We had an incredible experience at the Matcha Factory tea ceremony. From start to finish, it felt thoughtful, calming, and genuinely special. Our host, Maya, was fantastic! She was knowledgeable, warm, and engaging without ever feeling scripted. She walked us through the history, preparation, and meaning behind the ceremony in a way that was easy to follow and deeply respectful of the tradition. You could tell she really cares about the craft and about creating a great experience for guests. The matcha itself was high quality, the pacing was perfect, and the overall atmosphere made it feel both educational and relaxing. It was a great balance of learning, tasting, and slowing down. Highly recommend this experience to anyone curious about matcha or looking for a unique, memorable tea ceremony. We’d absolutely do this again—especially with Maya as the host.
