Our tour will begin when our guides pick you up at the meeting point early in the morning to arrive as soon as possible at the Lakes of Covadonga and make the most of the day.
We will stop at the Mirador de Entrelagos and enjoy the wonderful views of Lake Ercina and Lake Enol. Our guide will make the experience complete by explaining the history of Spain’s first national park. Then we will continue until we reach the Basilica of Covadonga, a truly impressive building.
We will also see the Cave of the Virgin of Covadonga or the Cave, where the carving of La Santina is located. Then we will stop for lunch in Cangas de Onís, to taste typical Asturian dishes or enjoy the city at your leisure.
We will have panoramic views from the bus to the beaches of La Espasa, La Isla and La Griega. Finally, we will make a stop in Lastres, where we can contemplate the town and its imposing viewpoint.

The Covadonga Natural Park was the first National Park in Spain and, in 1995, it was changed to the Picos de Europa National Park and biosphere reserve.
Basilica de Santa Maria la Real de Covadonga
The Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Covadonga is a must-see stop on our tour. We will also talk about The Bell that weighs 5,000 kilos and the crypt. Oh! And from the Obelisk where they say Pelayus was proclaimed King. Get ready to hear the most interesting stories!

5.00David was the best guide. I had some issues with Buendia Tours due to cancellation of a tour I was really looking forward to and booking a tour specifically bilingual since I don’t speak Spanish and being told that the tour would be entirely in English the day before though my tour was booked and paid for far in advance. I went into this tour with low expectations but David saved the day. Although I was the only English speaker, he had me sit next to him on the bus and he made sure I got equal attention and information. This is how it should be done . If you have a bilingual guide there is no reason, one person should not get what they paid for. David knows what good customer service is! Aside from David, the scenery was beautiful. The hike might be tough for seniors but I made it with my bad knees and well worth it for the views. Wish we had more time in Llanes but you can’t have everything.

5.00The last bit to the lakes is a challenge. Also for our driver. It is, however, worthwhile. We were lucky enough to walk around in good weather. The clean clear air, the sound of cowbells, the vultures. We had a great time.

5.00It is absolutely beautiful, but we are good shoes because there’s quite a bit of hiking and walking involved. Nothing overly difficult but a little bit strenuous and you just need good shoes bring a raincoat just in case.
