After having breakfast early in the morning, you will prepare your backpacks and start your trek. You will cross a small suspension bridge over Ying Yang Khola and leave the main road behind, following a narrow trekking trail. The trail will run alongside Langtang Khola and will have gradual switchbacks. Oak and rhododendron trees will surround the trail for most of the day. Be sure to pay attention to the trail as you may come across some exotic birds and langurs. You will pass through several small teahouse settlements such as Tiwari Gaon, Bamboo, and Rimche. The trail will become relatively steep and challenging after Rimche until you finally reach Lama Hotel.

Langtang Valley Trek
The trail leads toward Langtang village, a rocky hillside with cascading waterfalls and occasional glimpses of Langtang Lirung. You will follow the Langtang River uphill as you walk past the wide yak pastureland of Ghoda Tabela, where you can enjoy the magnificent Langtang Range and surrounding landscapes. With an enticing view of the Langtang range, you walk through a few villages and monasteries to arrive at the Tamang village of Langtang. Mundu is only a 30-minute walk away. The old houses in this area serve as a reminder of what all the villages in this valley used to look like. However, most of the lodges and homes in this region are now constructed in a more contemporary style.

Kyanjin Gompa
To reach one of the trek's most significant monuments, you leave Mundu behind. As you make your way along the trail, you'll notice a gentle incline through the yak pastures. The valley begins to open up even more, offering splendid views that stretch out before you. On your way to Kyanjin Gompa, you will pass through a few villages, water mills, and chortens. For the locals of this area, Kyangin Gompa is a monastery of immense importance. As you travel, you will pass by several prayer flags, wheels, and little dwellings that people have built. There is a strong presence of Buddhist culture here. Upon arrival, you'll have plenty of time to relax in the afternoon or maybe even explore the area. We would recommend that only if you are willing to explore more, it might be worth checking out Langshisha Kharka up the Valley to take in some breathtaking views.

What an epic trip! Nepal Social Treks were brilliant. Seamless organisation from start to finish. They were always friendly and responsive with communication before I came out, were helpful when it came to hiccups with my baggage. And were flexible with my tour, switching from the Tamang to the Langtang trek with no complaints. My guide - Kamal, and porter - Santa, were both excellent. Kamal was super knowledgable, trustworthy, and great company. Santa’s a legend! The accommodation & food were great. The daily trekking: incredible and just the right level of challenging. I could not recommend this trek enough if you’re after something shorter.

We were lucky enough to get to know the corners of Langtang and Gosainkunda with Yadu. A charming guide who made us feel at home and who knew how to adapt to our needs at all times.

The two of us organized this trek at the very last minute, but the agency was super helpful in arranging everything according to our requests (transfer, date and time, food, guide). We transferred from Kathmandu by local bus. you can also get a private Jeep, but it’s more expensive and it doesn’t make you save time, so we went for the most local and authentic experience. We did this trek during the monsoon season, so it rained most of the time, however our guide Bishnu helped us with everything, from the equipment to the best and ad hoc itinerary, he even rescheduled the daily plans according to the weather and our personal requests. Actually, before this trek we did the Annapurna trek with the same guide, we had a beautiful experience so we decided to do another one together. This trek is breathtaking, no matter the season you do it. Even if it rains, once you’ll be at the lodges you can find stoves where you can dry your clothes and spend time with the host, talk with them and even cook with them. The price of the trek is also a very good deal, compered to the fares that you can find in Nepal!! Thank you to our wonderful guide Bishnu for the time spent together and the agency which supported us! We’ll see at the next adventure :) Thank you very much!

We walked 10 days with my guide Madan, to the Tamang heritage trail to start (through small villages, we were alone in the guest house, meeting the locals 😊), then we made Langtang Valley. Everything was very well organized, I felt totally confident and safe. Madan was considerate and attentive, he was very present when I fell ill one day. An incredible experience that I highly recommend with this serious agency in Kathmandu!!
