My husband and I had an excellent Super Jeep tour of the highlands of Iceland with a terrific local guide called Geirmundur ("G" for short). G was so knowledgeable and passionate about the region that it really made for a special, memorable day. The highlands are a truly unique, rugged and unspoiled part of the world. One of the sights, The Hekla volcano, was amazingly large, situated in picturesque surroundings. G cooked us lunch, followed by some trekking with outstanding views and a visit to an interesting geothermal area. Although we were there in June, the landscape was still snow-covered and we were trekking through snow... it was so much fun! I would highly recommend this Super Jeep tour to anyone looking to spend a day off the beaten track in the Iceland highlands!
