Situated at the extreme southwestern tip of Mauritius, you will hike and climb to the memorial cross of Le Morne Brabant Mountain (UNESCO world heritage site), guided by our local and qualified mountaineer who is committed to safety, comfort and fun. Experience the first light of the day, followed by the magical sunrise with its golden colours which can be seen only at this time of the day.
This activity involves multiple rock-scrambling and climbing sections - participants having experience in mountaineering will be a great advantage. During the hike, you will learn about the unique flora and fauna of the island, the history of the mountain and the cultural aspects of Mauritius, accompanied by a local qualified mountain guide. You will also spot “Boucle d’Oreille” commonly known as Trochetia Boutoniana, the endemic national flower of Mauritius.

5.00The trip to the top of Le Morne was one of the highlights of our stay in Mauritius, our tour guide Gaël was one of my favourite people that I met during my time in our 2 week stay. He was experienced and kept me and my partner safe the whole journey, stopping for breaks whenever we needed (even though Gaël didn’t break a sweat the whole hike). We had great conversations up and down the mountain, and he knew everything about Le Mornes history. He’s a top man. Very much recommended to do the early starts as it was empty at the top and the views were crazy. Ben and Serena

4.00I did the 4:30 hike and we were easily the first group to reach the peak. I went in March, and although there wasn’t a true “sunrise,” the views were still absolutely amazing. Pickup was right on time, and as a bonus, I was dropped off at what my guide said is the best coffee spot on the island, KIND, for breakfast. The guide was well-prepared and even had a first aid kit, which came in handy when someone in the group slipped. Highly recommended!

5.00Fabulous experience with Gael, and 4 other tourists hiking up Le Mourne. Don’t be put off the the early start, starting at 4am gives you the most amazing sunrise at the top without any other visitors and means you are walking down as everyone else is coming up. Take lots of water, good walking boots or shoes and lots of insect repellent.

5.00We had an amazing experience doing the sunrise hike on Le Morne Brabant with Matt. He was incredibly attentive throughout the entire hike, making sure we were safe, well hydrated, and always comfortable taking breaks whenever we needed. The views at sunrise were absolutely breathtaking and made the early start completely worth it. We would definitely recommend wearing proper hiking boots for better grip, as some parts can be quite steep. Overall, it was time and money very well spent. We highly recommend this experience, especially with Matt as your guide!

5.00Highly recommend! This was a great tour and well worth it no matter your hiking experience. Easy to book and great communication. A note on my guide - I did a 1:1 guided hike with Gaël and it was absolutely breathtaking. Gaël helped me all the way through, especially on the parts of the hike where I was nervous or it was a bit tougher; he kept me going and made sure I felt safe and comfortable the whole way through. He was also incredibly knowledgeable and kept me entertained for the whole four hours ☺️ To top it off Gaël took some amazing “Instagram worthy” videos and photos for me. I would highly highly recommend a tour with Gaël and will most certainly be booking him again on future trips! Thank you so

5.00My husband and I absolutely loved this hike and certainly felt accomplished afterward! Our guide was excellent, and our small group with another couple was very well taken care of. We are both athletic and work out, and we were fairly tired when we reached the top. There are some extremely steep places, and some sharp drop offs, so not recommended for those with fear of heights or who may have a harder time with steeper climbs. It was a fantastic climb and our photos from the guide capture the fun and beauty of making it to the top. Highly recommend!

5.00Mat was a great guide - in the dark it started and when I got to the top I saw one of the most beautiful sunrises - a dream - The ascent is easy for sporty people to master, in the end you are allowed to climb something.

5.00Kevin was an outstanding guide from start to finish. His top priority was always safety, and he made sure everyone reached the summit feeling secure and confident. He constantly motivated the group, but never pushed anyone beyond their limits, which created a supportive and stress-free atmosphere. Along the way, he shared fascinating insights about the area’s history as well as the local fauna and flora, which made the hike even more engaging. Thanks to Kevin’s professionalism, knowledge, and care for the group, the experience was both safe and truly memorable.

5.00Kevin was an amazing guide - very knowledgeable about the mountain and the island. We did the sunrise climb, leaving at 4am in the dark. Kevin had a strong focus on safety and we all felt secure under his help and guidance, with Kevin making it very clear the route we needed to take up some of the more difficult sections. The views at sunrise were amazing and the experience and views from the top are out of this world. We were given time at the top to enjoy the views and take pictures. As we climbed and at the top, Kevin was taking pictures and videos of us which were shared with us at the end. The climb, and this tour specifically are strongly recommended, my wife and I loved the experience which was made more special by Kevin.

5.00We booked this tour with Kevin. A professional guide through and through. In the run-up - as many photos and videos have seen on the Internet - I was not at all comfortable with the idea of climbing over bare, slippery rocks to the summit. But Kevin made us feel very well looked after from the start. He always led us safely up through Stage 2, and down again. We also learned a lot about the history of Mauritius and a lot about nature, land and people from Kevin. Without a guide, I wouldn't do the tour. THANK YOU again Kevin for the exhausting but very impressive tour.
