Like skiing untracked powder, ice climbing is both an artistic dance and a demonstration of musculature. Finesse meets power with the hopes of reaching the top.
From beginners climbing ice for the first time to advanced climbers seeking expert instruction, experience a day of ice climbing in the mountains of Summit County, Colorado, near Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco, Silverthorne, and Vail. We offer half-day, single- and multi-pitch guided sessions for all ability levels. Individuals, couples, groups, families, and children are all welcome to hire a guide for a private adventure close to our office in Silverthorne.
No gear? No problem! Rent what you need for your own excursion. Guided lessons include specialty gear, and we often have other gear for rent that you may not have brought with you. Get it at our Back Country Demo Center in Silverthorne.

What To Expect
Take your ice climbing skills to the next level, or have a blast trying it for the first time. Providing a safe, educational, and fun day on the rocks is our mission. Our professionally-trained guides are experienced with the local climbing zones and can choose the best area for a given group. We will provide all the climbing gear you need, just wear your own warm winter clothing! We will send one guide with each group of five participants.

5.00Our guide Nate was so wonderful. He took time to tell us about the history of the site and the science behind avalanches along with lots of other things. You couldn’t ask for a more accommodating, friendly and kind guide. We had a blast on our adventure even if we weren’t the best at the ice climbing. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who has an interest I trying this activity.
Phenomenal experience is an understatement !

5.00Phenomenal experience! i rock climb and wanted to try out ice climbing. Colorado Adventure Guides is truly above and beyond and left me with a fantastic experience. Sam is an excellent guide and Justin, Mel, Michael who all co-ordinated and help schedule are awesome. The hike to the climbing place is also pretty breathtaking. The experience left me with a whole bundle of interest to go back ice climbing - is an understatement.
