Shark Bay
After pick-up from your hotel, you'll drive to Shark Bay over on the east coast of Sal where your lemon shark experience will begin. You'll wade out into the water with a marine biologist, who will guide you step by step and teach you all about this incredible species. Spot their yellow-tinted skin – ideal for camouflage in the sandy shores – and watch them as they go about their business, twisting and turning, and looking for fish just a few feet away. You'll see their fins cutting through the surface of the water and get to know these sharks closer than you could imagine.

The trip was about 3.5 hours in total, We visited a quiet spot on the island where the Lemon Sharks babies swim in the shallow waters. It was amazing to have the sharks swimming around your feet and legs . There would brush against your legs occasionally as they swan past which made your jump. Lin, a marine biologist accompanied the trip and she made the whole experience so interesting and meaningful. The terrain was of volcanic rock so water shoes were a must. They can be hired for EUR 3 at the water front and were very sturdy.

Great guide, amazing experience and smooth transportation. Suitable for all ages. We brought our kids aged 5 & 8 as well as grandparents. Recommend because of their respect for the sharks and not feeding them as other groups did.

We had a great trip with Angelica, a marine biologist who gave a lot of information about the island, the underwater world and the sharks. They do not feed the sharks and treat the sharks with respect. Even without feeding, the sharks swim around you. Unbelievable to see these amazing animals so close. My 10-year-old son also loved it. Part of the ticket price will also go to the Biodeversity project, which works to protect sea turtles in Sal. I highly recommend it.

Carla was a great guide with loads of facrs, respectful of nature and very kind. We saw loads of baby and teenage lemon sharks, too many to count! And the guide didn’t even bribe them with food which made it even more special. Tour lasted 2 hours, just over 1 hour round trip and 45 minutes at shark bay.

On 14.11.2025 we were on the lemon shark experience tour. It was a great tour with Marlene. Marlene gave us a lot of information during the bus ride about the lemon sharks. She also gave us interesting information about the Caretta turtles as well as about other marine life and nature. We can only recommend this tour with Marlene. Marlene is a very nice, personable and competent marine biologist. Ute, Hans and Jacqueline

Chelsea took us on a short excursion to see the lemon sharks, sadly due to her beliefs not wanting to feed the sharks, I totally get her reasoning, our tour had minimal interaction with fewer sharks. While 2 other groups had plentiful numbers swarming. Quite disheartening

Such a fantastic experience, our guides Anjelica and Chelsea were not only very knowledgeable about the sharks but also about the whole island. The commentary en-route to the sharks was informative and interesting. When we arrived, they made sure everyone was safe and comfortable. No question about it, this was the trip that made the holiday, and thanks again to the guides we now love rather than fear sharks. Great job girls
