  Mr. Hu Xia, our driver is very professional. He also drive very nicely. My mom and I really enjoyed the trip to Giant Buddha at Leshan. Mr Hu Xia noticed my mom could not walk much, so he tried to always drop us off and pick up at the most convenient spot for my mom so she did not have to walk far. It was very considerate of him.

  Our driver Mr. Hu arrived at our hotel on time. The vehicle was clean, smoke-free, and he had waters for both of us. The drive from Chengdu to Leshan was approximately 2.5 hours. We pre-purchased our entry tickets through trip.com and only needed to present our passports for entry. We were dropped off at the North gate. We bought tickets once inside for the Oriental Buddha Park and enjoyed that more than the Giant Buddha. The park was not crowded as we arrived the day after Chinese Labor Day was over. We communicated with Mr. Hu through WeChat and translated the text. We ended up exiting the east gate and sent him a text and he promptly picked us up. The next stop Huanglongxi which was about 1.5 hours. The town was very cool, but we arrived around 4:45pm which we learned 2:30-5:30 is break time in general and a lot of stores/restaurants are closed. It was ok for us because it was not crowded and we just took pictures. Mr. Hu waited outside for us. He never made us feel rushed and dropped us off at Tianfu Square at our request instead of our hotel. This is a long day of driving and not a tour. Think of it as a private driver. I highly recommend this if you want to do things at your own pace and not be herded through in a tour group.

  We had a wonderful day with Mr Wang, a very smooth and safe driver, who shared a wealth of information about life in Sichuan, including plenty of great advice on where to find the best food (in Chinese). The tour gives you enough time to get to Leshan, climb the mountain and do the cruise, and have a leisurely afternoon in an ancient town, being back in Chengdu by dinner time.

  The driver, Li Chao, was amazing! He picked us up at our hotel and helped us during the tour! The buddha was breathtaking and huanlongxi is big and beautiful!

  I enjoyed this trip very much! It’s great to see the Giant Buddha statue up close, followed by walking around the ancient village of Huanglongxi. I appreciate Shi Jianhua’s help in showing me around both places and recommending activities to do such as ear wax removal. I have also noticed he takes very good photos which is very helpful!
