What To Expect
Tarpon Feeding Dock
The Tarpon Feeding stop is by far one of the highlights of the tour. We like to say, if you’re not fully awake yet, this is the stop that’s guaranteed to get your heart pumping! Tarpon are massive fish that can grow up to 8 feet long and weigh as much as 300 pounds. Feeding these leaping giants is an unforgettable experience you definitely don’t want to miss when visiting Caye Caulker.
Mesoamerican Reef (Belize Barrier Reef)
The Belize Barrier Reef is approximately 287 miles long. On a full-day tour from Caye Caulker, you’ll be exploring just a small portion of its magnificence. Our next stop is only 8 minutes away from Caye Caulker, where we’ll search 2 to 3 main areas of the reef for manatees. Once found, we’ll snorkel with them—of course—while maintaining a respectful distance and avoiding any touching or harassment of these majestic creatures. If we’re not lucky at first, we’ll continue to other stops and try again on our way back to Caye Caulker.

Excellent snorkelling experience with Blackhawk Tours of Caye Caulker

5.00We did the full day Hol Chan snorkelling with Captain Al and crew E.J. from Blackhawk Tours. Kelvin, at the Blackhawk office, handled our booking, gave good advice on what to bring and what to expect. Their snorkel & fins were in good condition and Kelvin ensured that everyone got a good fit. Captain Al also brought onboard extra gear, in case anyone needed a change of snorkel. Lunch was provided and we chose to have local Belizean meal. It was delicious. The team also served us fresh cut fruits, chilled sodas and rum punch during the trip. We were so well informed by the team throughout the day - Captain Al would explain the location we were heading to, the current & wind directions, and what types of sealife to expect. Eleven snorkellers were divided into two groups - one group led by E.J. and we joined the other group to do the 45-minute guided snorkelling at the main reserve area of Hol Chan with Captain Al. Being a certified marine guide, he knew the sites so well. We saw at least three huge Spotted Eagle rays, giant Barracuda, several Green sea turtles, Moray eels, schools of Bluestrip Grunt fish, different types of Jack fish and numerous colourful coral fishes. We went to six different sites from 9.30 am until 4 p.m. Every site, including the Coral garden & Tarpon Grove, was as interesting because Al and EJ would share their knowledge about them. Al was such a humorous Captain and EJ was really cheerful and easy-going. We are very grateful to the Blackhawk team - Al, EJ and Kelvin for an awesome day at Hol Chan marine park! It has become one of our highlights of our one-month trip in Central America!

5.00It was a wonderful tour with 5 different stops. Our guides Daniel and Hugo were telling us al their knowledge about Caye Caulker and the underwater world. They made it a great experience for us. We never saw so many fishes and swom with sharks. They did their ultimate best to search for the Manatee as wel for us! Thank you guys! We would definitely recommend this tour with you!

5.00Fantastic day from clear and easy booking for a large group to the day itself. Though all activity providers on island do the same (or v similar) stops, this was by far and and above the best customer service throughout. Having lived in Belize over a year now I've been able to sample a few and these dudes come on top throughout. We did the full day tour (lunch and rum punch) and the 8 in my group that had never been were beaming throughout. They even filmed snippets from the day for us! 11/10!

Daniel helped us with everything, provided all the information and answered all our questions clearly. He went above and beyond to make this a great experience. The tour was brilliant, packed with many spots and opportunities to see various wildlife. Daniel is very experienced, knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great time! Safe to say, it was the best recommendation we have ever received and will definitely be back.

5.00I researched alot of snorkeling trips for our time in Belize and this was by far the best one! The captain and staff are amazing, the lunch was delicious, the videos from the GoPro came out amazing and the whole experience was fantastic! We saw other tour groups struggling to find manatees, turtles and majority of them never got to see them. But, our captain (13 years of experience snorkeling) found multiple of them fast and effortlessly everytime. With this snorkeling trip, you will get the absolute best for an unbeatable price. Defiantly book with Black Hawk Tours if you want a guaranteed unforgettable experience.

5.00We've scuba dived and snorkeled around the world and this might be the most marine life we have ever seen! The water was very clear with high visibility. We were able to see a manatee, several eagle rays, multiple species of stingrays, a moray eal, green turtles, dozens of nurse sharks, barracudas, and too many schools of fish to count. EJ and Al (+Al jr) knew the waters really well and had so much info to share about Belize, Caye Caulker, the Marine park, and all the species of animals we saw. They provided laughs, stories and overall good vibes. If you do only one thing in Belize, make it this!
