Book this tour. It was a privilege to be reminded of those powerful and brave people who fought for our rights before our time. To consider again our LGBTQ+ truths within a historical and future perspective. Bravo Henk.

Once you’ve done all the usual tours (on a boat, off a boat, blah blah) give this one a go. It’s a tour through time, more than through space, covering only a few stops in the centre of town, but leading you through a number of key points in Amsterdam’s recognition of LGBT+ rights. Henk is such a fun tour guide, interweaving historical facts, personal anecdotes, and even bits of Dutch poetry, for a really unique tour. He was, of course, happy to answer questions on the way round, and to give our small group some recommendations on places to go next, after the tour.
