What To Expect
Torre de Belem
At the beginning of our tour along the Tagus River, we will pass by the majestic Belém Tower, one of Lisbon's most iconic monuments and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built between 1514 and 1520, this Manueline-style tower was erected to defend the mouth of the Tagus and protect Lisbon from potential invasions. With its stunning architecture, you can admire the intricate stone carvings, such as the intertwined ropes, armillary spheres, and crosses of the Order of Christ—symbols of Portugal's maritime power. Beyond its defensive role, Belém Tower also served as a lighthouse, a customs post, and even a prison. It was also a departure point for the great maritime expeditions of the Age of Discoveries. As we pass by, imagine Portuguese navigators like Vasco da Gama setting sail into the unknown.
Jeronimos Monastery
Shortly after passing Belém Tower, we will spot in the distance one of Lisbon’s most grand and impressive monuments: the Jerónimos Monastery. A symbol of the wealth and splendor of the Age of Discoveries, this monastery was commissioned by King Manuel I in the early 16th century to celebrate the great maritime voyages of Portuguese explorers. With its imposing Manueline-style architecture, the monastery stands out for its intricate stone carvings, featuring maritime motifs such as ropes, armillary spheres, and mythical creatures. Inside, you will find the tombs of some of Portugal’s most significant historical figures, including Vasco da Gama, the explorer who opened the sea route to India, and Luís de Camões, the poet who immortalized these achievements in his epic work The Lusiads.

5.00I was a little nervous going alone. And was even more nervous when there was only one other traveler on my trip. Relax. The vibe was amazing and the captain and his mate were fantastic. I will never forget my adventure and would absolutely to it again. I’m Sure the next experience would be amazing as well! Highly recommend. Leave your fears or worries at the dock. Good vibes only.

5.00We had a fantastic sunset cruise with Ivo our Captain and John. We were a family of 6 adults and we were met at the dock on time and got on a lovely cruiser. We were given some wine, beer or cider and welcomed aboard. My daughter was given the job of picking the tunes and we set off to great music and drinks. Both Ivo and John took turns to tell us about the sights and history of Lisbon. Just before sunset Ivo stopped and tied up the cruiser and they got the guitars out and played some original fado music and songs we all knew to sing along to as the sun was setting before heading back to port. It was a great evening. This is a relatively new business and they are two great guys doing a great job. I would highly recommend this trip to any visitors to Lisbon

5.00I chose this experience because its unique. You can go with yachts and private charters, but the experience sunshine tours provides makes you feel closer to Portugal and the Portuguese. We had history class, disco on the water and acoustic session all in one. Plus at the end we got fully edited go pro video from the whole thing. Captain Ivo and his sailor (forgot the name) are the best ambassadors of Portugal you can get as a first time visitor.

5.00Ivo the captain and his sailor are two fantastic guys with great energy and cool stories to share about Lisbon. We had lots of fun together, free drinks and snacks, they let me play music from my home country and they made sure to do recommendations for Lisbon in general.
