Liwa, or The Empty Quarter Desert, home to the world's largest dunes, is an ideal location for 4 X 4 Dune bashing. You can enjoy a delicious BBQ with fresh salads, a delightful breakfast, and Arabic bread throughout your overnight camp. Drive to the Liwa desert, and enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Liwa Desert Oasis and visit a local camel farm.

As the night falls, you can sit beside the bonfire enjoying BBQ dinners and salads. You can take some amazing pictures of sunset scenes.

You may also get shisha smoking pipes upon request. After spending your night in igloo tents or sleeping bags, you can have a delightful breakfast in the morning.

What To Expect

Bateen Liwa

Our accredited guide will meet you at the pick up point and accompany you up the tower. The drive through the Oasis of Liwa will take approximate 3 hours. Enjoy the elegant and beautiful dunes watch and enjoy highest stargazing chance to explore the rich history and culture of Arabia. A stay-over Campfire Sunset watching with a live BBQ dinner. Wake up at the sunrise with smell of coffee and enjoy a breakfast before trying gentle dune driving on your way back to Abu Dhabi. We ill drop you to your hotel or same pickup point.

Nighttime was my favorite though. Quite but not scary-quite, just peaceful. We sat outside after dinner just looking at the stars, and it felt like we accidentally booked therapy. Woke up early, sleepy and Sandy, but super happy we did it.

The distance from Abu Dhabi is amply rewarded by the fantastic landscape. A real "non-touristy" but genuine tour accompanied by Ahmed who revealed himself to have a profound knowledge of the area, an excellent guide and an expert driver! Thank you Ahmed for the wonderful experience.

The team had everything set up perfectly — comfy camp, great food, and endless stars above us. Amenities were better than I expected — comfy seating, tasty dinner, clean setup, and a proper place to relax. It had that balance of adventure and peace that’s hard to find.

The private camp was peaceful, stripped of city noise. Sleeping under such a clear sky, the stars seemed close enough to touch. Every single facility we had was comfortable and we enjoyed our night.

We're retired and thought we'd try something a bit adventurous without sacrificing comfort, it turned out to be one of the sweetest surprises of our trip. No loud entertainment, just quiet conversation and old stories shared by guide.

Thanks to Arif for a great trip to Liwa and the desert. Highlights were camping with a copious BBQ dinner & breakfast expertly cooked, waking up to see the stars and Plough constellation from my tent plus seeing the sun come up in splendid isolation. Arif was very knowledgeable, worked hard and did some awesome driving in the dunes. Despite being in the "empty quarter", we met his friends at a date palm plantation and camel farm near to where we were staying.

Shafeel, our guide provided us with very exciting ride through the dunes. His care and hospitality was exceptional including preparation of BBQ under the starts in the desert and setting up tent for us. It was a great experience to spend a night right under the stars far away from civilization. Of course you have to be aware that accomodation is not 5 stars hotel but this is Empty Quarter! Everything was done on time.
