We are the only local LA family-owned food tour business. We curated the original Downtown LA food tour back in 2009. A fun, passionate, and knowledgeable LA native will be your tour guide and fellow foodie friend for 3.5 hours as she/he takes you through LA's oldest public open-air market for delicious tastings at two of our favorite food stalls. Then, you will head out to historic Broadway for some incredible sightseeing of hidden landmarks such as the Bradbury Building before entering a gorgeous Italian osteria for a lovely sit-down feast of homemade pastas. Guests continue to eat their way through LA with a stop at the Last Bookstore before chowing down on some tacos and then finishing up with a decadent dessert. Guests will visit a total of 5 local eateries with tastings equivalent to a full meal, walk and sightsee around Downtown LA, receive a free tote bag for leftovers or shopping, and bond through this unique and authentic food tour experience.

"Sally from the Valley" (those who know will know) was our tour guide. She was bubbly, charming, knowledgeable and just a wonderful tour guide. She really knew her way around Japan Town and shared fun facts along the way as she explained each dish we ate and how to eat it. (They were all great and some were things we never would have tried without her encouragement.) We were a private group of eight and were so impressed that we are planning our next food tour with Sally!

This was a great tour. Its not an "appetizer" food tour, there is plenty of food and you will leave full. The stops are all fun, and the tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly.

We went on the Little Tokyo tour, and our guide Sally was wonderful. She was great with both kids and adults. The food was delicious, and the history was an added bonus. Sally was energetic, knowledgeable, and made sure we had a great time. The amount of walking, the breaks, and the food choices were all just right. We had allergies and preferences that she happily accommodated. Highly recommended!

We started with two tastings at Grand Central Market which we're both amazing and large portions. Then we toured the beautiful Bradbury Building. After that, amazing pasta at Maccheroni Republic. The tacos were excellent at Guisados. It was a fun stop at the last book store. At the end, dessert was a donut or Gelato. It was a very enjoyable 4 hours. Highly recommend.

This food tour was fantastic. We ate some brilliant food that we otherwise would not have found or tried but also we got to learn some history and see some of the brilliant downtown buildings and sights. The length of the tour and distance was perfect for me, my husband and parents. Our guide, Darlene, was really knowledgeable and was a brilliant host. Would highly recommend this tour!

Six Tastes Review: Hands down the best food tour I’ve ever been on! Sally and her daughter Madeline made downtown Los Angeles feel like a culinary playground. They turned a city that’s often thought of as “not walkable” into an unforgettable adventure — part history lesson, part cultural journey, and part feast. Every stop was thoughtfully chosen, showcasing both the flavors and stories that make LA so unique. The food was absolutely phenomenal, from hidden gems we never would have found on our own to iconic bites that truly represent the city. But what really stood out was Sally’s gift for weaving in fascinating facts, personal touches, and the heart of Los Angeles into the entire experience. She made us feel like we weren’t just eating — we were connecting to the culture, history, and people of LA. We walked away not just full, but inspired — with a whole new appreciation for Los Angeles and its vibrant food scene. Sally and Madeline are warm, knowledgeable, and make every moment fun, engaging, and delicious. If you’re even considering a food tour in Los Angeles, stop searching and book this one. You’ll walk away with a happy stomach, unforgettable memories, and a deeper love for the city. Truly a gem!

In a nut shell: This tour is AMAZING — truly the best food tour I’ve ever taken! Sally and her daughter Madeline are warm, knowledgeable, and made downtown LA feel like the most exciting (and delicious!) place to explore on foot. Every stop was a hidden gem, with incredible food and stories that connected us to the heart of the city. Sally has such a gift for blending history, culture, and fun — you leave not just with a full belly but with a deeper love for LA itself. Our office just had the pleasure of being taken on an amazing food tour of Santa Monica. Sally was personable, knowledgeable, loved by each restaurant owner that she walked into. The food selections were delicious and being able to walk to the next spot was great for digestion! We all had a great time and we will absolutely be going back to these restaurants. Six Taste is a great option for a family hang, office team building, just a bunch of friends who want to explore a part of town... there should be a spot for Six stars.

My son and I had a great time on our tour. Darlene was so knowledgable. We not only got food, but some LA history and a special stop at the bookstore. My only advice would be not to double book yourself. We had early evening plans and the tour was running a bit behind (nice not to feel rushed!). That didn't work for us, as we needed to get back to the hotel before 3 (the tour was supposed to end at 2:30) so we missed the last two food stops.
