Depart from Durban at 6:00am. Travel into Lesotho via the Sani Pass. Lunch at The Highest Pub in Africa, at Sani Mountain Lodge. Basotho Blanket Presentation. Ride to Basotho Village (approx. 1 hour on horseback - weather dependant) to enjoy an Immersive Basotho Cultural Experience. Sundowners at the top of Black Mountain, at 3240m ASL. 5.00FANTASTIC TRIP! We loved it. The four days really allowed us to see the best of Lesotho. Long car rides were not too bad. We loved the village visit with guide (Joshua) most and the blanket presentation when we couldnt see the Dino prints. Would recommend to keep the blanket presentation. We would have liked to participate in a cooking class (bread or lentiles) and maybe seen a cultural dance presentation. However, we knows these are difficult to coordinate for solo/duo travelers. Probably need a bigger group for the dance. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

5.00Roof of Africa’s owners (Emil and Britney) exceeded our tour expectations on all counts. We are two retired senior women who were curious about exploring Lesotho’s natural beauty, history and people at our own pace. From our first contact to our final day of the tour, Emil and Britney meticulously coordinated our trip development and tour progress. Other than the positive reviews we read on Trip Advisor, we knew next to nothing about Roof of Africa and Lesotho. But Emil worked patiently with us to develop a nine day Lesotho tour, with immediate and detail feedback to all our questions. The trip experience was greatly enhanced by our Guide Peter who opened our eyes to his country as he (safely) drove us around Lesotho. Peter, being a Lesotho native, served as a conversational conduit for us as we interacted with the people of Lesotho. Peter, with obviously no shortage of experience in “reading” tourists, discussed with us on a daily basis our activity and culinary preferences and options. He generously shared his impressive knowledge about Lesotho’s wildlife, history and people. The last two days of the tour we opted to luxuriate in a safari reserve going on exciting wildlife drives and eating dreamy meals. The Driver (sadly I don’t remember his name) gave us a very interesting Durban tour before driving us to our hotel in Underburg. Some of the Durban tour options initially appeared touristy to us but that did not end up being the case…Durban’s Phansi museum, Muthi trade market and the Mandela Capture Site Museum are not to be missed.
