Lymington & Keyhaven Marshes
The walk will follow the Lymington River and the seawall to Oxey Marsh taking in panoramic views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight, Hurst Castle and The Needles. The return route via the ‘ancient highway’ and Normandy Lane will give plenty of opportunities to explore the diverse history of the marshes. Lymington-Keyhaven Marshes offer the opportunity to view a range of bird life at close quarters along with a wealth of specialist flora and fauna. Almost every visit is different, the New Forest coast offers breath-taking views and opportunity for memorable wildlife encounters. We will also explore the diverse history of the marshes stretching back to the Iron Age through to the heyday of the salt industry and the important role the area played in the Second World War, intermixed with tales of smuggling, jailed kings and invasions! The walk will take a relaxed pace, allowing plenty of time to take in the surroundings, explore whatever wildlife should present itself.

Me and my partner had an excellent tour. We went on the nightmare tour and the guides were incredibly knowledgeable. They recognised the call of a lesser spotted woodpecker which allowed us to see it; they talked about the forest; they pointed out usual fungi, plants and moths and their knowledge of the best time and area to see nightjars meant we were lucky enough to see a spectacular display from of nightjars. We have been on several walks with them and would happily do so again.

Beautiful walk lasting 3 hours. Marcus and Emily and Jamie are super knowledgeable about the wildlife and also the New Forest in general. A real treat - I will be booking more experiences with them

Excellent day out. Saw lots of birds and managed to get some good photos. We would defiantly consider doing it again in a bigger group.
