You might have had numerous encounters with the Maasai people while on safaris but most of the time, that is staged authenticity where they put up a show for you as they receive tourists on hourly basis. An authentic experience of any tribe in Kenya cannot be found close to tourist routes.
This village is exclusive for Happy Tribe only and at the end of the day we leave you to judge the authenticity of this experience.
This becomes more of an experience than a tour as you participate in in what Maasais do daily. From cooking ugali in a manyatta, beadwork, lighting a fire traditionally, milking a goat, dancing, singing and jumping with the Maasai people, you get to do them all.
While on this tour, feel free to investigate and ask regarding the exploitation of such vulnerable poor people by tour companies. We might be the only company that pays the maasais that turn up individually separating even a mans money from his wife. Payment is done via Mpesa to everyone present.
Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap

Isinya
This is the first town along the way outside of the Nairobi Metropolitan area and is predominantly Inhabited by the maasai people. Travelers get to see the vast plains of Kajiado, hills and the extensive vegetation. They also get to see herds of animals e.g. goats, donkeys and cows. Like any town in Kenya, all forms of economic activities are seen here.
If you happen to make this tour on a market day(Monday or Friday), then you get to see firsthand the booming livestock market full of animals for sale. Maasai beadwork, herbs and attires are also traded. In the midst of the beautiful chaos, you will always find souvenirs as you interact with the unique Maasai culture.

Our tour guide, Dennis, was so informative about the Masai people, in general, as well as the village we visited. The tribe welcomed us into their village by dressing us in their traditional garb. The men herded goats into a pen where we all got to milk them. The women learned some beading techniques and prepared ugali, and we all got a chance to eat some. We also learned some of the chants and dances, which was so much fun! Also visited a livestock market and school in the area. So informational! Thank you, Dennis, for a wonderful experience!!

A wonderful, friendly tour with Simon, the best guide anywhere ever. He is really knowledgeable and has a great rapport with the Maasai. He explained everything we and they were going to do, so I was prepared. I learned a lot and would certainly recommend this day tour to all interested people..

This was a great little adventure outside of Nairobi. I felt completely safe as a solo female, and in fact another solo female joined me in this trip. We had a lovely experience and would recommend if you want to do something cultural.

This was a great experience and seemed very real and authentic. The Maasai people we met were happy to greet us and welcomed us into their community. We experienced a traditional setting and a way of life that is completely different from anywhere else yet with some real things in common. Making beads, herding goats, milking them and cooking traditional food on a fire where all interesting and the dancing and singing at the end was the highlight Of definitely recommend this but it is a long drive - about 3 hrs each way for a 1-2 hr visit plus it’s near the Tanzania border and not near the Rift Valley as described

It was an absolute life changing event. The tour guide was phenomenal. Very friendly, patient, informative and fun. The villagers welcomed us like family. They taught us how they herd sheep, make jewlery, cook traditional African food and how to start a fire with sticks. Then we sang and danced together. It was very emotional when we left there. I really loved the experience. I 100%recommend this if you are in the area. You won't regret it.
