Our trip to visit the Maasai compound in Bisil was awesome! Our driver/guide Obed was friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend to see the way the Maasai people live simply off the land.

Mwose N. was on time with the hotel pick up and was really informative on what to expect in terms of distance. He allowed us to take pictures along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of learning about the Masai culture and people. I recommend people put on sunblock though. The time length is accurate along with the one lunch break.

This is by far one of the most educational cultural experiences. Tim (our guide) took excellent care of us. We were warmly welcomed by a Maasai family after a 2 hour drive to Bisil. We had the opportunity to wear their dress and jewelry, learn about the flora and fauna, cultural and hunting practices. We also learned how they build their homes and had the opportunity to sit with them inside. We danced, learned how they build fire and even had a chance to milk a goat. I love that this tour was NOT invasive or disrespectful to the Maasai family. There was so much honor and respect in the interaction we had. I felt proud to be their guest. We spent 2.5hours with them. The photos we took were very cool. I highly recommend this tour experience, it is truly enriching.

I cannot express how amazing this trip was. My guide was professional and knowledgeable. The tribe was very welcoming and made me feel at home right away. I’ve been on many excursions all over the world, and this one was truly the most unique. Highly recommend.!

The actual village experience was excellent and a good mix of activities. Our host at the village was funny and explained things well. The issues with the tour is timing and planning. We wasted a lot of time waiting for other groups to arrive by other cars when in reality it would make more sense to pickup everyone together and have an earlier start time. Also the tour took significantly longer than advertised - one and half hours and we didn’t have a lunch stop at all on way back. If this tour started earlier- say 6:30, that would allow for time to stop for lunch. Lastly, no water was provided at all throughout the entire trip. Which when you have an 8 hour trip and there’s no water at the village, this is ridiculous. I’ve been on many tours that are fraction at this tour price and provide food and drinks.

Wow, talk about exceeding my expectations. Visiting the Maasai Village was a life-changing experience. Not only do you witness first hand the life of a Maasai Tribe, you actually become part of their tribe from wearing the traditional costume, learning how to create fire, throw a spear, create jewellery and lastly celebrate with the Maasai Tribe through their traditional dancing. This is the real deal, not some touristy rubbish, so do yourself a favour and do this tour ASAP. Ezekiel and his team at Safari Port will make sure you get a first class experience you will remember this experience forever.

A MUST DO TOUR WHEN YOU ARE IN NAIROBI I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect at first, but this experience turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. It took us roughly about 2 hours to reach the village from Nairobi and as we arrived at the Maasai village, we were warmly greeted by the Maasai leader, Alfred. He was incredibly kind and friendly, making us feel welcome right away. Thanks to our guide Tim for bringing us to meet the Maasai. He’s a great tour guide, very knowledgeable about Maasai traditions, culture, and daily life. He also shared some cool facts about Nairobi and the Maasai along the way, so we didn’t feel bored during the long drive. Watching the traditional dances, throwing spear, making fire with sticks, learning about their manyatta homes, and listening to their stories felt truly authentic. What stood out the most was how open and genuine the Maasai people were, greeting us with big smiles and warm hospitality. Overall, it’s an unforgettable cultural experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting Nairobi.
