Enjoy a first-hand look at how local residents live day-to-day outside the postcard perfection of Cusco’s main square. The guide will explain the history of this market as you wander through the narrow aisles laden with colorful fabrics, meals, fruit juice, breads, crafts, shaman stalls, etc. After we visit Cusco's main square, a busy and vibrant space that marks the colonial center of the city; which features wide stone pathways and well-kept colorful gardens. Then we walked towards the street of Hatun Rumiyoc. The walls of the palace have a Snake and Puma on it. Moreover, there you can observe the well-known 12 angle stone which is a symbol of perfection in Incan Architecture. After, we will head to the Temple of the Sun (Qorikancha) upon which the Convent of Santo Domingo has been built. Sungate Tours provided a truly exceptional adventure for our family. Fernando was just an amazing travel agent, responsive to every single question and looking at every aspect of the custom tour. No detail was left unturned including meet and greet, transfer from airport, personalized and exception tour guides (Maria Clara, Dianne). The trip was made special by meeting Doris who helped us start a wonderful day to Puno and made quick changes to help in direct communications. One of the highlights was the Sonesta hotel and the trip to Uros island.

Excellent outfit with great attention to details. Our guide Richard was very very good. Extremely knowledgeable and spoke multiple languages. A musician by training and an excellent guide. Was able to change and adjust on the fly to give us a trip of a lifetime. He was about to change the trip because of a national strike at the last minute to make sure we got to do all the things we wanted to do and more. He was also able to extend our already excellent trip to Macchu Picchu so we could also get an intimate look on the ground level as well.

From the depths of the Amazon jungle to the heights of the Andes, our adventure with Sun Gate Tours was nothing short of extraordinary. We had the pleasure of embarking on a bespoke package covering three main journeys with them: an Amazon expedition out of Iquitos, the iconic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and a breathtaking hike to the Rainbow Mountain. The team were very accomodating in putting a package together based on our dates and preferences - each experience was flawlessly organized, and the memories we made will last a lifetime! Amazon Jungle Expedition (Iquitos): Our journey began in the heart of the Amazon, where Sun Gate Tours exceeded all expectations. The logistics were seamless from the moment we landed in Iquitos. Our guide - Manuel - was incredibly knowledgeable, bringing the jungle to life with his deep understanding of the wildlife and local ecosystems. We explored the lush rainforest and the river, spotting exotic birds, monkeys, sloths, and even pink dolphins! The accommodations were comfortable yet rustic enough to give us an authentic Amazon experience, and the cultural encounters with indigenous communities were enlightening and respectful. Inca Trail to Machu Picchu: Next, we embarked on the Inca Trail, and Sun Gate Tours made this challenging trek an absolute joy. Our guide - Richard - was not only passionate about Incan history but also deeply connected to the local culture, which enriched our experience immensely. The trek itself was well-paced, with plenty of time to soak in the breathtaking views of the Andes and the ancient ruins along the way. The porters were the unsung heroes of the trip, always smiling and providing incredible meals that fueled us for the trail. Reaching the Sun Gate at Machu Picchu at sunrise was a moment of pure magic, made all the more special by the meticulous planning and care provided by Sun Gate Tours. Rainbow Mountain: Our final adventure took us to the Rainbow Mountain, a natural wonder that has to be seen to be believed. The hike was challenging due to the altitude - easily the hardest day - but our guide was patient, encouraging, and equipped us with everything we needed to succeed - including the occasional tune on his set of panpipes to spur us along! The stunning views of the vibrant, multi-colored mountain were worth every step. Sun Gate Tours ensured we were well-prepared with advice on acclimatisation and what to bring, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. Overall Experience: What sets Sun Gate Tours apart is their commitment to providing a truly immersive and personalised experience. Their attention to detail, from the pre-trip communication to the final farewell, was impeccable. We felt safe, well-cared-for, and genuinely connected to the culture and natural beauty of Peru. Whether navigating the dense Amazon, trekking the ancient Inca paths, or ascending to the surreal landscape of Rainbow Mountain, Sun Gate Tours made every moment unforgettable! Thank you, Sun Gate Tours, for making our once in a lifetime, dream adventure through Peru a reality!

We had planned and booked a trip to Peru online through Sun Gate Tours for Feb 2023 but due to political unrest in Peru, we could not travel in 2023. This time in 2024 early June, we made it utilizing our previous booking amount. It was a week long tour to Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Sacred valley and Rainbow mountain. We communicated with Lucas and he was very polite and helpful in organizing everything. From landing in Lima till our departure, it was an amazing experience. Our stay in all the hotels in Lima, Cusco and Aguas Calientis was very comfortable. All the guides were excellent with English, very knowledgeable and helpful. Lunches provided were good especially culinary activity in learning Peruvian cuisine was too good an experience. We just loved it. And finally Doris who received us at Cusco airport, was very courteous and only a phone call away for any queries. It was so reassuring in a foreign country. We definitely recommend a trip to Peru with Sun Gate Tours.

Sungate Tours was an excellent agency to work with. When another agency cancelled my trip the stepped in and made a custom tour for my wife and I including time in Lima, time in Cusco with some amazing nearby tours, a day trip to Rainbow Mountain and a trip to the sacred valley and Machu Picchu. All the guides were amazing and we enjoyed our time with Jose the most. He knew so much of the Incan and Peruvian history and helped make the trip really enjoyable.

Sungate Tours was amazing at setting up the logistics of our trip! We arrived in Cusco and Doris was waiting for us to escort us to our hotel. Cusco is an amazing city. The night life was great! After our stay in Cusco we started our trek on the Inca Trail. I have to say this far exceeded all expectations I had. Our tour guide Monica spoke great English and did a wonderful job explaining historical sites and answered all our questions. One of the best parts was the food. I would have never expected to receive such high quality fresh food camping. If you can request Marcelino as your cook I highly recommend him. Once we reached Machu Picchu Monica gave us a tour. I was so amazed. We had some extra time in Lima on the way back and booked a last minute Lima tour. Sungate Tours set everything up for us. It was the best trip I have ever taken!

Sun Gate was the best! I got to see so much in just one week! Richard was our guide on the Inca Trail and exceeded my expectations by a million. He was special because he knew the Spanish version of history of all the many ruins alo the way and he knew the mysterious Incan version of history too. On top of that,he had an amazing personality with so much good energy. He woke us up in the morning by playing flute outside our tents. Trust me, you can't get a better alarm than that. Emi was always standing by to take any of my messages or questions on WhatsApp. I was never left wondering or confused about anything. Any questions I had were answered in just a few minutes. Very very helpful. Definitely recommend this company.

During the planning phase Emi was available 24/7 to answer any/all of my questions. She was able to design our trip with just what we wanted. Once we got to Peru our guide, Richard, took over. He went above and beyond our expectations. During our trek not only did we learn about the trail and the Incas, but he also taught us about the flora and fauna. We felt like royalty from our porters and the chef. The food was amazing and there was plenty. No one ever left the table hungry. SunGate is the best. I would recommend them 100%.
