  So glad we took this tour with Robbie today. He was fun, informative, flexible and a really great driver (super quiet electric car). The Western tour took us to Porto Moniz & we were so glad we weren’t driving a hire car! Instead we were grateful for a relaxed ride over to the north coast of the island. Would highly recommend these tours as a fantastic experience with someone who is knowledgeable & passionate about this beautiful island.

  What a brilliant day in the comfort of an electric mini bus. You were able to clearly hear all the information that the guide, Roberto shared. So much knowledge and passion for the island. Pick up and drop off at your door and a full day out. Such a brilliant day - you must do it.

  I really enjoyed this tour, it was great to get more of a sense of the island and to see several different areas. Robbie was an excellent guide, his commentary was interesting and funny and his enthusiasm for the island and for the tours was evident. It was good to learn about the Madeiran way of life. He was very knowledgeable on all the plants and crops and made sure he pointed them out. I appreciated his suggestions for short walks and places to eat. It was one of the best tours I’ve been on, I highly recommend it and I hope to do the East side tour next visit.

  Wow, what can I say! From start to finish, the tour was absolutely fantastic. Roberto was attentive right from the beginning, making us feel welcome and comfortable. At each stop, he shared a wealth of fascinating information about the history, culture, flora, and fauna of Madeira. His knowledge and passion for the island really shone through. The route itself was stunning, with breathtaking views and plenty of opportunities to take great photos. Roberto kept us entertained with his humor and stories, and he always made time to answer our questions. It was the perfect balance of learning, sightseeing, and fun. I can’t recommend this tour (and Roberto!) highly enough — a must-do experience when visiting Madeira!

  We booked the West tour of Madeira with Madeira Electric Tours. Our guide Roberto was exceptionally good. He arrived on time and was very knowledgeable about the history of the island. He described in detail all the fruit,trees and shrubs. Every stop was unhurried for us to take photos. We had a leisurely time at the Porto Moniz where we could swim in the pools and take leisurely lunch. This was followed by a wine tasting and a lovely return journey.   It was a very nice tour. Our guide Roberto took a lot of time and showed us many great sights of western Madeira. At the individual stations, he always gave us enough time without rushing us. Communication in English went great too. Since my partner and her son barely understand English, Roberto always gave me the time to translate everything.   Another two amazing trips with Robbie. This is an experience not to be missed - the man's enthusiasm and knowledge are inexhaustible! Don't hire a car on Madeira, folks, just do some trips with him in his electric vehicle and you'll see and learn a lot more than if you go on your own. It'll be a whole lot less stressful and enjoyable too - Madeira is not a place where you should drive if you can avoid it! Leave it to the local experts like Robbie.

  We advance booked and paid for both tours, east and west, scheduled on two consecutive days. The first day we were collected along with another previously unknown couple from our hotel. Roberto managed to seamlessly accommodate the interests and needs of the two different couples so everyone gained the optimum experience on an individual level. In fact, the convivial nature of the day managed by Roberto led to us enjoying dinner with the same couple when we bumped into them again a few nights later! On the second day my husband was unable to come on the east tour as he was ill and so we were resigned to me going alone with him missing out and losing the money paid. However, upon learning of this when Roberto came to the hotel to pick me up he explained that, as he had no other clients joining us that day, he could swap his personal diary around, cancel our trip that day without penalty, and meet us both again on a different day at the end of our second week instead. This was simply another demonstration of Roberto’s care and consideration of his clients. During the interim period we enjoyed a couple of hiking trips with a mountain guide and realised that some of the places we had walked were on Roberto’s next itinerary scheduled for our east day. No need to worry, when he collected us both Roberto said he had actually seen us in the distance at one venue with the mountain guide, had guessed what had happened and so, aided by his previous knowledge of our preferences, had put together a personalised trip for our consideration to places not yet visited. We of course agreed and had another great day seeing new sights and learning new things about Madeira. With Roberto’s knowledge and infectious appreciation of his island he is an excellent ambassador for Madeira. His electric vehicle is comfortable, clean and smoothly driven leading to a full and relaxing day. We highly recommend Madeira Electric Tours, a company which goes above and beyond what you would reasonably expect and one which delivers on all fronts.

  I cannot even put in to words how wonderful and informative our tour in Madeira was. I can’t say enough about our very knowledgeable, friendly and most proficient driver and guide in this beautiful island! I highly recommend Roberto (Robbie). We travel extensively and this tour was a definite 10 out of 10! There were 4 of us (2 couples) and we all loved everything about this adventure.
