With intimate classes of up to six participants, you’ll receive one-on-one guidance as you choose from Northern New Mexico landscapes, adobe churches, wildlife, O’Keeffe-inspired masterpieces, Fun Favorites, and more.

What To Expect
Step into Artful Soul, just steps from Santa Fe’s historic Plaza, and get ready to paint your own 11 x 14 masterpiece! You’ll start by choosing a theme that inspires you—from Northern New Mexico landscapes, adobe churches, local wildlife, or Georgia O’Keeffe-inspired art, to playful Fun Favorites or Masterpieces. Laura Tarnoff, your personal guide, will give step-by-step instruction and one-on-one support as you mix colors, explore composition, and bring your vision to life on canvas. You’ll experiment with acrylics, learn helpful techniques, and express your creativity in a supportive, fun environment. By the end of your 2.5-3 hour session, you’ll have a finished painting to take home, along with a boost of confidence and the joy of having created something uniquely yours. Whether you’re a first-time painter or an experienced artist, this is your chance to play, explore, and discover your inner artist in beautiful Santa Fe.

5.00I booked a lesson with Laura for my mom, sister and myself as a bday gift for my mom. Laura was an amazing instructor during our lesson. We had an amazing time painting together and we each left our own paintings. We painted and created wonderful memories. We will be back.

5.00My daughter and I had the absolute BEST time! I’d give the experience ten stars if I could.. Laura was a tremendous teacher and guided us along the way, while encouraging us to follow our own unique artistic desires. The space was lovely, bright and inspiring. She also had yummy snacks which my 12 year old daughter found to be a real bonus! We will definitely be back to paint with Artful Soul and highly recommend making this part of your Santa Fe itinerary.

5.00My 10-year-old daughter (Evette) and I had an amazing time at our art class! Evette loves art and she absolutely loved the painting lesson. I'm a lawyer with a lopsided analytical brain with barely any creative experience... and I absolutely loved the experience too. While painting, it was like my mind was unplugged from work or life stress. Laura was an excellent teacher, patient, encouraging and insightful. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

5.00My friend and I wanted to try something new and tap into our creative sides. This was the perfect way to do that! Whether you are a a complete beginner or have some experience, it will be fun. Laura is very patient and knowledgeable. She breaks the painting down into manageable steps and teaches some cool techniques. I learned a lot and left with a piece that I genuinely love 🖼️ 💜

5.00My teacher was Laura. This little shop is nestled in the old Santa Fe Market building. Designed by hippies in the 1960, the shop is full of color and life. Laura is such a talented teacher. She knows how to organize classes so even if you do not think of yourself as an artist, you will create something beautiful. She makes suggestions, but accepts you may not take them. She is a MASTER ART TEACHER! I learned so much. Thank you Laura!
