Orit is amazing and wonderful! We are foodies who visit Jerusalem every year, and if you want to have a great experience learning about all of the different types of food preparations and their origins as you taste your way through the Shuk, then a tour with Orit is a MUST!! Her knowledge, enthusiasm, and warmth shines bright as you learn so many things about food, Israeli culture, history, agriculture and the best places to enjoy the diversity of the Israeli pallet!

I have been to Israel a few times. The energy, knowledge, compassion, and her sense of timing Orit offers as a guide is simply a gift. We were with a large group. Ages were 30-70 years old. Her ability to meet the needs of each and every one of us did not go unnoticed. I simply loved her vibe, and thoroughly enjoyed this whole experience. And I am not much of a "foodie" either- it was marvelous. I have a friend forever in Orit.

Having Orit as out guide on a May 2022 culinary tour of Israel was an amazing experience. It was so much more than I expected and I loved every minute of it. The food was fabulous and I learned so much about the origins and evolution of current day Israeli cuisine. Orit was so knowledgeable and so much fun.

Orit is the most amazing guide, (and this from someone who has had at least 20 great guided tours! ). She is knowegable about the food, various cultures, history of religions, and the current Israeli scene. Most of all she brings passion and joy to the touring experience. Don’t miss the opportunity to share a day or a week with her

Orit is a superb guide who know everything and everyone in Israel especially if it has to do with food. I have had the pleasure of working with Orit as our local guide for 3 different group culinary tours and will be working with her again next year. She is simply the best with an ability to make sense of the complexities of Israeli society.

We have been to Israel several times and wanted an experience that was different than the typical first timer's tour. Our tour was 10 days with 10 fabulous people who felt like family very quickly. We tasted interesting food and wine in different places around the country. Orit has a knack to make everyone feel comfortable. She was one of the best tour guides we've encountered and handled everything professionally and with grace. We laughed a lot, learned a lot, and definitely ate a lot! She was flexible and when unique opportunities presented themselves, she made accomodations in the itinerary to take advantage of them. We never felt like we were asking too many questions, or that any special requests were unreasonable. I highly recommend taking any tour that Orit offers.

We specifically traveled to Israel to explore Israeli foods and were fortunate that Orit was our guide. She has an extensive knowledge of food from ingredients to preparation to consumption. Her expertise in Israeli culture and history added meaning to our experience. Our tour of the market was fascinating as we stopped to taste spices, baked goods, smoked fishes, and street foods. She knows the market like the back of her hand because she lives there. She pointed out the good spots and the spots which could use a little improvement. Our tour extended to other parts of Israel as well as we explored Israeli cuisine. Orit is energetic and personable and by the end of our tour was a friend of the entire group. If you are worried, her English is perfect. Her professional experience as a teacher comes through loud and clear. Do yourself a favor and tour with her!

Dear reader, This trip was inspired by the famous chef from Philadelphia named Michael Solomonic. Through the Israeli tour guide, Orit Levi, we experienced the cuisine from the propagation, harvesting, preparation, cooking and eating of the food. Orit was so knowledgeable in this field that it was scary. She kept on digging and serving knowledge beyond our expectations. At the same time, she made it fun and constantly asked for our input to make the tour that much more meaningful. The tour was worth every penny and we are looking forward to doing future events with her and Via Sabra. All the best! Frank Blatt [email protected]

I have been in Mahane Yehuda market so many times but Orit's tour was definitely the best. Orit is so knowledgeable and so interesting. She is also very very generous, I never ate so much in a food, I think there was at leat 10 different dishes.
