The Manatee and Dolphin kayak tour is one of our busiest kayaking trips and the best daytime outdoor activity in the Orlando and Cocoa Beach area. This location can see upwards of 200+ manatees at any given time. It is truly "a once in a lifetime tour" for our adventuring guests.

What To Expect
Paddle through the canals and keep your eyes open for playful dolphins and gentle manatees who call these waters home. Manatees are known as the gentle giants of the sea, and they are curious creatures who love to come up to kayakers for a closer look! You may even be able to pet one. Dolphins are equally playful and often swim right by your kayak. You might even get the chance to witness the Bottlenose Dolphin in the act of predation. Our tour guides are wildlife experts and can point out each creature and teach you a little something along the way. Terence Can Walk on Water! 😀

5.00Well, maybe not walk on water, but Terence did an amazing job with our kayak tour today. He took the time in the beginning to explain to us about the history of Merritt Island to give us a greater appreciation of where we were and what we were going to see. And in short order, we were in a manatee hotspot with lots of activity. From there, we paddled to another area to hopefully see some dolphins and as if on que, there was a male dolphin swimming back and forth for 10-15 minutes before we headed back to shore. My family has been on several kayak tours over the years and this one was by far the best yet. Thank you, Terence!

5.00I had an absolutely unforgettable experience kayaking with Florida Adventurer at Bird Island near the Haulover Kayak Launch. This wasn’t just a tour—it felt like being immersed in a living, breathing ecosystem with someone who truly respects and understands it. One of the highlights was seeing flamingos in their natural habitat—something I never expected to witness so closely. What stood out most was how Brian carefully observed their behavior and ensured we gave them extra space if there was any sign of disturbance. He was deeply respectful of the posted protections around Bird Island, which I genuinely appreciated. It’s clear conservation comes first. As if that wasn’t incredible enough, we also encountered manatees—including a baby that came right up to my kayak. It was one of those rare, magical moments you can’t plan for. Brian’s knowledge of the wildlife, the land, and the water was exceptional. He shared insights throughout the trip that made everything we saw even more meaningful. And for any photographers out there—be ready! This was by far the most challenging wildlife photography I’ve ever attempted. Between the wind and current, you’re constantly moving—but that just adds to the adventure and makes capturing those moments even more rewarding. All in all, an amazing, memorable experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for something truly special and authentic.

5.00Great time. Beautiful spot. Flamingos at Bird Island! Many manatees, gator and majestic birds in a hidden cove. Guide Brian was awesome, very personable, interesting insights and laid back/fun attitude. Everything right on schedule, clean equipment and safe, steady paddling. Highly recommend. Get close to nature!

5.00Javier was a fantastic kyak guide, very relaxed but focused on safety and our comfort. We booked a noon tour for four, two adults and two teens, and lucked out with our last minute trip and weather. We were able to see manatees, dolphins, and other wildlife up close. Javier went out of his way to personalize our experience since we were a small group, and shared a lot of information about the animals, and the history of the area. The route was beautiful and peaceful. He let us take our time and soak it all in. We had a great view of the Space Coast launch pad in the distance from the peaceful water, and we all relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. We would definately return and recommend. Leave early enough to enjoy the nature of the drive and not be rushed, and write down the name of the company as there are multiple kyak companies there. I feel confidant we chose the best, between quality and affordability. Use sunscreen, including shoulders and legs. Thank you Javier, for giving our family such a positive and memorable experience.

5.00Javier was a knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating guide. We saw a lot of manatees and a huge alligator. The weather cooperated and we had a great day!

5.00Javier was a wonderful guide, lead us to an area where four or more manatees were active. We stayed about 30 feet away so we would not disturb them, but could clearly hear them exhale as they surfaced! Amazing! We also saw a few dolphins in the Haulover channel and a few more in the Indian River. Javier knows a lot about the manatees and even showed us comb jellies.
