Edward was our tour guide for our trip to Manuel Antonio National Park . We saw lots of wildlife like sloths, bats, hummingbird, Slaty-tailed Trogon, Lizards, a snake eating a lizard, and off course the white faced capuchin monkeys. Quite impressed with a variety of wildlife that we saw with our tour guide. His expertise on wildlife is excellent. We particularly liked the fact that the tour did not feel rushed in and we were given enough time to observe wildlife and take photos/videos. Overall we had a fantastic experience with our tour guide.

We had an incredible experience exploring Manuel Antonio National Park, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide. His knowledge, sharp eye, and passion for wildlife made all the difference. He was able to spot animals we would have completely missed on our own—sloths hidden high in the trees, tiny frogs, monkeys, and even well-camouflaged insects. What made it even better was how he explained everything in such an engaging and easy-to-understand way, sharing interesting facts and stories along the way. He also used a high-powered scope so we could see the animals up close and even helped us capture great photos through it. The pace of the tour was perfect—never rushed, but still covering a lot. If you’re visiting Manuel Antonio National Park, I highly recommend going with a guide like him. It truly transforms the experience from just a walk in the park into something memorable and special.

**Manuel Antonio: Stunning, Wild, and a Bit Crowded (4/5 Stars)** Taking the short drive over from Quepos to explore Manuel Antonio National Park was a major highlight of our April trip to Costa Rica. It definitely delivered on the scenery and wildlife, but there are a few things to know before you go. **The Highlights:** * **The Wildlife:** We saw sloths, white-faced capuchin monkeys, and iguanas. It is practically impossible to walk the trails without spotting something amazing in the canopy. * **The Scenery:** The raw, natural beauty of this place is unbelievable. The lush rainforest meets the ocean in a way that feels incredibly dramatic. * **The Beaches:** Manuel Antonio Beach inside the park is stunning—white sand, crystal clear water, and set perfectly against a thick jungle backdrop. It’s well worth the humid hike just to cool off in the waves. **Things to Watch Out For:** * **The Crowds:** It gets *very* busy. The main trails can feel a bit bottlenecked and touristy when a massive crowd surrounds one tree trying to get a picture of a sleeping sloth. * **The Parking Hustlers:** On the drive in, you’ll see guys in official-looking fluorescent vests stepping into the road to flag you down into expensive, faraway parking lots. Ignore them, keep driving, and park right near the actual park entrance. * **Monkey Thieves:** The monkeys are highly entertaining but they are absolute menaces when it comes to food. Keep a close eye on your backpacks at the beach, or they will steal your snacks! **Final Tip:** Buy your park entry tickets online well in advance (they do sell out), and hire a certified guide. Having a local expert, Edward’s, with a spotting scope made all the difference in seeing camouflaged animals we would have completely walked right past otherwise.
