A land-based trip off the pristine, rugged Eastern Cape coastline brings guests close to whales year-round. The area is also known as the bottlenose dolphin capital of the world. This is one of the region's prime birding destinations where a number of pelagic, freshwater, coastal and bush bird species may be spotted. Activities include guided drives, hikes, birding, botanical, historical, lighthouse and marine explorations. Minimum of 4 adults per time slot. If you are fortunate to be here at the right time of year – generally between May and July - the sardine run is a phenomenal natural annual event that has been rightly called the ‘greatest show on Earth’ the marine equivalent to the mass wildebeest migration in East Africa. For a few weeks, the ocean boils with the frenzied action of billions of sardines migrating northwards along the eastern coastline, attracting abundant marine predators and birds in their wake. Shoals can reach 7km in length, 1.5 km wide. To be present during this time is truly one of the most spectacular wildlife sights on the planet. But any time of the year offers its own special sightings in this species-rich marine paradise.

Amazing view, lovely beach walks. If you are as lucky as we were you might see a few dolphins. Great braai area, everything you need is there. I would 100% recommend the lighthouse for a weekend get away. 10/10!

I had the most amazing time at the lighthouse! The accommodation was super clean, cozy, and had a stylish touch that made it feel like a home away from home. Having a braai inside with the best view made the experience even better. The view was simply breathtaking and easily my favourite part of the whole trip. I would love to go back and do it all over again! 🏖️🌅

So awesome to experience this Safari with a knowledgeable nature loving guide, Roger. The best part, except for the HISTORY and BEAUTIFUL view on top was to hear about the intelligent plan to use sewerage water for plant growth, which establish the dunes. All & all very knowledgeable. Cold wind. Dress warm.

What a beautiful part of the country. The flora is incredibly diverse and stunning alongside the ocean. I definitely recommend it for photographers as it makes a ideal sunset shot. As a keen birder It was nice to walk alongside the ocean spotting new birds to my life-list. The African Oystercatchers was my favourite ! The ultimate highlight was to be close to my first ever lighthouse. The guide was also very knowledgeable and entertaining. I had an amazing time there and would definitely recommend it to anyone especially someone keen for some adventure
