Barely made it to the ship in time. Very stressful, slow driving, minimal communication. Driver mad because we kept insisting we needed to get back in time. I think that made him drive slower. Guide in City fluent and informative but didn’t read the guests at all. Spoke endlessly for the short time we had, about outside of buildings and gardens. And with 1/5th group declining Palace tour, let us sit outside and wait. Led us to lunch (not on schedule) for $20/pp and then we couldn’t see balance of tour stops including the Medina in Marakesh because we had no time. We were there for 25 minutes. Thousands of places to look at and shop, in 25 minutes. Snake charmer? The whole thing was rushed. Missed entire point of going there, fiddling around on slow car ride and walking around pointing at stuff and eating someplace there was nothing I’d eat. Then all we could say was we’ve been there. Didn’t have a great experience at all. Camel ride was a one time experience that provided a few cute photo ops. But the costumes they made you wear were ugly and unflattering. I gave the tour a 3 because if it wasn’t from a ship with time constraints it may have been a 3. But for us, it was more like a 1. The cruise ship literally said they would have left without us had we been 2 minutes later. That would have cost us $700pp airfare to the next port plus 2 nights hotel. Just the stress of worrying about that was considerable. Then not getting to the market and being held up with this other stuff instead? The guide should have said- you’re short on time in the city. How can I accommodate you? And I believe all of us would have gone straight to the Medina, with 3 hrs to look around in Marakesh. We all would have been more satisfied. We will probably never come back. Wish we had seen more of the thing for which the city is famous. It was a series of missed opportunities.

Great tour guide. Very knowledgeable about the area. Lots of patience to answer all our questions. Showed us some nice areas to shop as well. Over all 5 start rating.

The tour guide doesn't listen to you , he has his own agenda. We told him we needed to be on the ship by 9:30 pm. We got to the ship at 9:54 .

For the first time visitor like us it provided a good overview of the area. While 6 hours round trip is necessary to visit Marrakech from Casablanca it was a long time to be in a vehicle. The driver did not speak English and simply played a local radio station for the entire ride. The 15 minute camel ride was the highlight with too little time left at the end for the incredible markets. Our guide Ahmed walked fast and far ahead of some slower guests. Carrying a flag would have been helpful. No time in the itinerary was allotted for eating during this 12 hour tour. This ment times were missed if we wanted to eat.

Let’s be honest, no one really wants to drive 2.5-3 hours to visit a city, but sometimes you do what you have to do to make it happen. And, Marrakech is worth it. Everyone we were in contact with did an outstanding job. From the office people, who were quick to respond to my questions, Abdou, our driver, was an incredibly safe driver. I called driving in Casablanca and Marrakech ‘polite chaos’ and Abdou was excellent. Mohammed, our guide, was very accommodating to our time restrictions and did a great job giving us a feel for the city. I read some of the reviews saying they were somewhat misled, but our experience was ideal. The tour company gave us just what they promised and I would highly recommend them.
