Discover the highlights of Marseille on this half-day guided tour. Begin with a visit to the Old Port and the historic city center, where Marseille’s rich past meets its vibrant present.

Continue to the majestic Palais Longchamp, inaugurated in 1869 to celebrate the arrival of water from the Durance River. Its impressive architecture and lush gardens make it a must-see landmark.

Next, ascend to the iconic Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde—affectionately known as La Bonne Mère. Built in 1864 in a striking Roman-Byzantine style, the basilica offers panoramic views over the city and coastline from its hilltop perch.

End your tour with a scenic stop overlooking the legendary Château d’If, made famous by The Count of Monte Cristo, before returning to your cruise terminal or accommodation.

The tour was supposed to start at 12:30. We arrived 20 minutes before and waited but nobody showed up. It turned out later that the time had been changed to 10:30 but, since we had no internet on the ship, we had no way of knowing that. We never received a refund. The tour was with Domitia and booked through Viator.

Paco was a great tour guide. Knowledgeable and passionate about Marseille. We learnt a lot on our tour and made it back in plenty of time to re-board our ship.

We were told to arrive at a certain location by 8:45 for a 9 AM tour. The guide did not show until 9:15. Meanwhile we found other people waiting had booked the same tour through Shore Excursions - and Domitia Tours never coordinated the numbers. They had to get a second bus! The busses were more than a half mile from the meeting area and there were several people with mobility issues who this was a real challenge for. We finally got started around 10 AM. We visited the Basílica of Notre Dame de la Garde which included several hundred steps to reach the site from where the bus parked. There was a small elevator, but anyone with mobility issues should avoid this tour. The coach bus was very nice, but the guide used a microphone that kept cutting out (and his accent made understanding him difficult). The guide never looked at our tickets until the conclusion of the tour. This might account for how we picked up a couple of people at one of our stops that got on the bus thinking it was the city bus! I’m not sure if those tour participants got on the second bus for our tour or what happened. All in all it was disorganized, visits to the various sites were rushed, and the guide (ironically) spent time admonishing guests guests for their tardiness when we kicked off the tour an hour late. Very poor experience.

Paco was very kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. We saw some beautiful sights and had time for a nice lunch. I almost gave it 3 stars, however, because there is not a moment of silence in the bus. If constant talking by the operator doesn’t bother you, you would probably give it 5 stars.

Wow! We really lucked out and got the best driver ever. His name was Paco! He took us all over the city. He was so informative. He stopped and let us take pictures anytime we asked him. He took us to places we didnt even know we wanted to see. Thank you Paco for giving us 1st class service. We made a new and wonderful friend in Marseille.

We went to Palaise Longchamp and Basilica Notee Dame. The 4 hour tour was nice but not special. We happened to be there when the local marathon was happening so the traffic was rerouted. I will say - the bus driver was very good. The roads were so narrow he literally had less than 1 foot on each side of the bus. The hired from the Basilica were awe inspiring.

We had some confusion to start the tour as our ship docked some considerable distance from the meeting point and we were not advised by Viator that we were to be picked up from the ship. However Jo our guide was excellent and took us around in a comfortable minibus explaining the history and background to the city.
