What To Expect

Enjoy a casual MATE tasting ceremony by the lake shore park led by a local expert. Try MATE, learn about this traditional infusion and how to prepare it. In the context of a relaxed conversation and while drinking rounds of MATE, in a true Argentinean way, group chat about Bariloche & Argentina in topics of your interest. Politics, economics, culture, history, controversial topics, art & leisure, tourism tips, etc. All topics and questions are welcomed. We will walk 10 minutes from Centro Civico to find the right spot in the park for the tasting ceremony & sharing. We may change the tasting location depending on weather & festivities in order to have the best possible experience.

We can highly recommend this experience! It's not only the best way to learn everything about Mate 🧉 — it's also a wonderful opportunity to sit down with a highly knowledgeable person in Bariloche and talk about anything you're interested in. It felt more like spending an afternoon with a friend than being on a tour. It's truly one of the best ways to get to know the culture and the places you travel to. Thank you, Diego, for this great lesson in Mate and for sharing your thoughts with us!

I cannot recommend this experience enough. Learning about mate and the customs and culture behind it just felt so personal and respectful. We started our day sitting in a beautiful spot, sipping mate and learning about its place in history and everyday life today. Diego was so welcoming and so easy to talk to. He really made this experience absolutely lovely.
