We were very lucky to take Paul on a 7-day Overland tour of Flores – and can recommend him from the bottom of our hearts! Paul is an extremely reliable, dutiful and safe driver who makes you feel in good hands at all times. We were particularly impressed by his great knowledge of the country, culture and people here on Flores. He shares his knowledge with a lot of enthusiasm and interest in sharing, which made every trip not only enjoyable but also very enriching. A special highlight was that we were able to get to know Paul’s family and his home – a wonderful and warm experience that made our trip unforgettable. Thank you, dear Paul, for your kindness, your patience and the many exciting conversations. We can highly recommend you to anyone!

As a family with 3 children aged 22, 19 and 16, we thoroughly enjoyed this fantastic week (8 days) with our guide Paul. Paul is the best guide you can find: he is responsible, organizes the whole trip to perfection, leaves nothing to chance, knows everything about the area, the people and the country and is an extremely pleasant and sophisticated person. He adapts the program where necessary or desired (weather conditions or personal reasons) and has made us experience the very best and most beautiful of Flores. He also helped us get a contact for a boat trip of 2 nights and three days in the Komodo Islands, which was also of excellent quality. As a conclusion, we absolutely recommend having Paul organise your trip, if you are looking for a varied and adventurous programme in Flores, with the best guide you could wish for.

We travelled together with our children with Paul from Ende to Labuan Bajo for five days. We had regular contact with Paul before the tour, which went smoothly. The tour was fully organized and tailored to our needs. Paul did everything he could to make sure everything went smoothly for us; when one of us wasn't feeling well, he even got medication to help us recover as quickly as possible. It was wonderful to travel with someone who has so much respect for the island and is passionate about sharing it with us. He has a wealth of knowledge, but he can also tailor it to our needs and that of our children. The accommodations were excellent, ranging from good to excellent. The food was also good. All in all, we enjoyed our five days with Paul on Flores and would definitely recommend him.

Paul was highly recommended to us by friends who have recently done a Flores overland trip with him. Their recommendation was totally accurate and we would also recommend Paul to all our friends who are also interested in the trip. Our plans for our visit to Indonesia were quite complex and throughout our planning stage Paul was always helpful and informative. Communication was excellent both while we were at home and once we got to Indonesia. He planned a great itinerary for us and accommodated all our requests. The trip was an amazing experience. Paul was thorough in the planning and arrangements he made for us. Weather caused a few problems one day, but he quietly and confidently made alternative arrangements and our plans were little affected, even though it meant a lot of extra work for Paul. At all times we felt we had confidence in all he did for us. We had have come away from the trip with many memories; both of the places we visited and the many people we met. Paul clearly loves Flores and its people and thanks to Paul we were welcomed by all. Many, many thanks to Paul for a great experience - we thoroughly recommend him as a guide and driver, and we hope we have to opportunity to visit again.

Letter to Paul: From 8 October to 14 October 2024 we were on an overland tour of Flores. Our driver and guide was Paul. I had met him through reviews in Tripadvisor and other forums. Since these reviews were all positive, I contacted Paul via internet. Afterwards I was sure (as a psychiatrist you have a sense of people) that I had found the right guide for our Overand tour of Flores. And my wife and I weren't disappointed. It became, thanks to Paul, an unforgettable Flores adventure. Our guide drove the car very carefully, his empathy and compassion were outstanding (such as when we returned from the village of Waerebo the next day completely exhausted). Paul was open to my wishes. So he immediately agreed to include a detour to Liang Bua Cave (Hobbit Cave) in the trip planning, a place I was personally very interested in. The food breaks were generous and Paul knew the best "resto" on the track. Stopovers in the "Alphamarts" the minishops, which are open 24 hours a day, were also offered again and again to be able to buy cool drinks. Then on October 13, the actual end of our Flores tour, the airline announced that all flights to Labuan Bajo had been cancelled from all airports due to a volcanic eruption, Paul spontaneously agreed to take my wife and I back to our starting point in Labian Bajo by car from the end - where our Overland tour was supposed to end on October 13, so that we could continue to enjoy our holiday as planned (the end of Labuan Bajo by car takes a minimum of 12 hours, it is an extremely winding road through the mountains, which is why we stopped at a hotel in Bajawa). So Paul finally saved our further planned vacation. It is certainly not an exaggeration to say that without Paul the holiday would have been much less pleasant and in extreme cases perhaps should have been stopped prematurely. That is why my wife and I would like to thank Mr Paul once again for his dedication and prudence. By the way, his WhatsApp number can be found on the internet or via Tripadvisor. Paul is a very helpful, accurate and reliable person. The vacation days spent in his company were undoubtedly free from all kinds of worries, even as regards the choice of places to sleep, which are always clean and in good condition. (Unlike what happened to other people we confronted and who relied on other tour operators).

We did a 7-day road trip with Paul in early May 2024 and it's one of the most enjoyable overland trips we've ever experienced. Paul is a well mannered and caring driver/guide. His car is always clean and presentable. He's very knowledgeable and resourceful, reliable and punctual, nothing is too much trouble for him. We had the opportunity to meet with his lovely young family, we wish them well and hope we can meet again in the future. Thank you Paul!

This tour was a great experience of our life. The sites we visited were the most interesting places available on the island and with a lot of information from our guide Paul. It was a safe ride with him but also adventurous when you are looking for more genuine areas in this world. We learnt a lot about Indonesia except the 4- and 5-Stars you find all around the world of the same kind.

Paul was a very experienced guide who took us on a varied journey of Flores for a week. We criss crossed Flores so he could show us the most interesting sites from mountains, seas and traditional villages. We tried a variety of different foods and met some wonderful people. Paul is a local and has been doing this job for many years. His knowledge was great. He knew many people along the way and we enjoyed his company. If you are thinking about seeing the real Flores we highly recommend booking with Paul.

We did a private tour with Paul, roughly (but not exactly) the same as the itinerary in the tour I listed. Paul was very responsive in listening to our preferences and structuring our itinerary around them, and the resulting trip was incredible - Flores is among the most beautiful places that we had visited (and we've traveled a *lot*). Paul is very knowledgable, eloquent and speaks excellent English, so he was able to provide informative and interesting explanations about all the places we were visiting, as well as about Flores and Indonesia more broadly. He was also kind and helpful in many other ways; for example, he helped us deal with a hotel issue that wasn't his fault at all, and to organize a wonderful private boat tour in Komodo, even though that was after our tour with him was over. I recommend him very highly for anyone looking for a truly private experience in Flores.
