Wilson has crafted a tour experience that you will not forget. His personal warmth together with his knowledge and lived experience of the Mayan history and culture helps you to gain a unique understanding of the complex relationships between the Mayan communities and the Spanish. The tour brings you to some of the key historical sites in Antigua with beautiful views -- and leaves you with so much more appreciation for these sites and Guatemala. 10/10 cannot recommend this tour enough. Thank you, Wilson!

Most of the tours in Antigua focus on the history of the city from the Spanish point of view. This tour focuses on Mayan history and culture. It was very interesting.

Wilson is an exceptional guide and gave the most in depth presentation of Mayan culture. There was so much history to learn and appreciate about the fortitude of Maya people. As a life-long learner I was inspired to learn more about Mayan people before European colonization.

My Mayan culture tour with Wilson was amazing! I learned so much and had a lot of fun. Wilson is an awesome person, and I feel like I had a new friend. 🤗 I really appreciate that he did the tour with just one person, me, even when he was traveling that afternoon. I wish I would have not have waited until my last day, because I think the rest of my time in Guatemala would have been more interesting that I known more about Mayan culture. I 100% recommend doing this tour with Wilson!

If you want to truly understand the heart of Guatemala, making Wilson’s tour your very first stop in Antigua is a absolute must! Far beyond a simple sightseeing walk, Wilson provides a masterclass in the enduring legacy of the Maya. His narrative offers a profound historical and anthropological framework that doesn't just explain the past, it illuminates the present. Through his guidance, you begin to see that the Mayan spirit is not a relic of a bygone era, but a vibrant, living pulse that informs the architecture, the markets, and the social fabric of modern Guatemala. Wilson possesses that rare gift of a true educator: the ability to foster a deep, compassionate connection between his guests and the local culture. After a few hours in his company, your perspective shifts and you start to notice the intricate Mayan influence around every corner, from the symbolism in a textile to the quiet strength of the people. This tour didn’t just inform me, it inspired a genuine affection for the resilient culture and warm-hearted people of this beautiful country. It is, quite simply, a transformative experience that will enhance your entire journey through Guatemala.
