Today’s sheep farm tour was one of the most memorable experiences of our New Zealand holiday. From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in authentic farm life on a sheep and cattle farm that’s been in the same family since 1884. Maria, our guide and a resident of the farm, shared her deep knowledge and passion with us firsthand. Watching the working dogs in action and bottle-feeding a young lamb were absolute highlights. We gained a whole new appreciation for merino wool after seeing the entire process—from shearing to shipping to the garment makers. This wasn’t just a tour—it was a window into a way of life, rich with tradition and care. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to connect with the land, the animals, and the people who make New Zealand so special.
