Last but not least, take the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views and capture some amazing photos that you will cherish forever.
Kastraki
At the bottom of the Holy Meteora Rocks and not far from Kalambaka is located Kastraki (translated as small castle in Greek). This picturesque village took its name from a small Byzantine castle, whose ruins are still saved today.

Stunning mountains, and the monasteries put the icing. It is more comfortable to go by bus with organized tour (especially for the explanations), but you can go perfectly by car, although there can be problems parking. The ticket is purchased individually at the entrance of each monastery, not purchased by the tour organization.

Great morning excursion. Very knowledgeable guide and well planed itinerary. Lot easier to take a tour than to visit by car.

We had a very pleasant tour with Vasilis who was explaining during the trip. He was very attentive and directly recognized everybody of the group. His explanaition of the area was interesting and he knew where they had to stop for the best views as well to seek quick alternatives in case the best was occupied. The views were amazing, even that we were during "low"season it was still crowded.

Our guide was great explaining the history of the monasteries of Meteora and sites. At each stop, we could explore the buildings and museum on our own. It was obvious that a mini van was the way to visit the area. Parking for cars was almost non-existent.

Everything was well organized. They picked us in front if the accommodation as agreed. The guide Themis is very knowledgeable and unobtrusive. We could really ask anything we were interested in. It was Four hours guided Tour. We received information before entering the three monasteries which we toured inside if we wished for the admission fee of 5€. It was unforgettable experience.
