Saint Steven Monastery is closed on Mondays. Due to this fact, on this day of the week Saint Nicholaos Monastery or Roussanou Monastery will be visited
The monasteries have a strict dress code: men must wear trousers and long sleeves, women must wear a long skirt. If you do turn up in shorts, trousers and skirts will be provided.

5.00This tour was much more than I anticipated in the best way. The monasteries were gorgeous, and entering one was a very pleasant experience. Make sure you wear pants/a long skirt for entry! Our guide and driver, Lina and Giannis, were full of information and excellent photographers. We got dinner recommendations from them, as well as some tips for our trip to Heraklion a few days later. I learned so much about the history of the caves and monasteries and had a great time doing it!

5.00what a unique and special place Meteora is! Our guide was funny and knowledgeable. Small group van tour. Probably could have started a 1/2 hour later. Worth the drive and overnight stay from Athens- nothing else like it.
