What To Expect
Mikumi National Park
Mikumi National Park borders the vast Selous Game Reserve, creating a thriving ecosystem. Its Mkata Floodplain, often compared to the Serengeti, is home to lions, zebra, giraffe, elephant, wildebeest, impala, and buffalo. Your journey begins with a 07:00 flight from Zanzibar, arriving at Mikumi Airstrip by 08:00, where your safari guide awaits. The adventure starts immediately with a game drive across the wildlife-rich Mkata Plains, including a stop at the Hippo Pool. After a bush lunch, continue exploring the park before returning to the airstrip by 15:30 for your flight back to Zanzibar.

5.00We had the absolute pleasure of going on the Mikumi Luxury Day Safari with Photographer in February 2025, and it was hands down one of the best experiences we’ve ever had! From start to finish, everything was exceptionally well-organized, and it was clear that the team had thought of every detail to make the trip comfortable, exciting, and memorable. A huge shoutout to Michal Bednarczyk, our guide and professional photographer, who went above and beyond to make this safari unforgettable. His knowledge of the park, the animals, and the surrounding nature was truly impressive. He didn’t just point out the wildlife—he provided fascinating insights into their behavior, habitats, and conservation. Michal and the skilled drivers made sure we saw all the incredible wildlife in the park, from majestic lions to elegant giraffes and everything in between. One thing that really stood out was the exceptional service and organization. Instead of squeezing everyone into two Jeeps, they brought three Jeeps to ensure that each family had space, comfort, and privacy. It made a huge difference in the experience. Michal, being the professional that he is, constantly switched between vehicles to make sure everyone got the full experience—detailed explanations, stunning views, and of course, fantastic photographs! Speaking of photography—this is what sets this safari apart from all the rest! Having a professional photographer like Michal ensures that you don’t just leave with incredible memories but also with breathtaking photos to cherish forever. He captured not only the animals but also the beautiful landscapes and special moments throughout the day. We never had to worry about taking our own pictures—he had it all covered!
