Poorly organized. Had to wait forever. Boats were in very poor condition. This company is under new ownership which explains why reviews were once great but now not so much.

Check in was at 10AM, but we did not leave the Marina until 11:15. When we got to Friars beach we were told that it wasn’t a good location for snorkeling. Snorkeling was the reason we booked the tour. We stayed on the beach for an hour and a half, had lunch and then headed back. Riding the mini speed boats was fun, but we expected to go snorkeling. The two guides were friendly and helpful.

After being 'shut-out' of our cruise-sponsored sold-out Mini-Speed-Boat excursion on a different Island, we found this one through Trip Advisor on St. Maarten. It was for the mini-speed boat + snorkeling, leaving from Simpson Bay. This was our 1st time booking an excursion through a 'third party' (not the cruise) and I had some concerns. However, all the pre-trip communications & notifications calmed all anxiety. It was very comforting. You had to take a short, inexpensive taxi-ride to a marina on Simpson Bay. (plenty of taxis at the port). Not being part of a 'cruise excursion' there was a mixture of other participants too. Also comforting was that the tour desk made sure they knew our cruise departure time (to plan our return taxi) . The pre-boating instructor was very thorough. The boat was very easy to operate. We were a small party of: tour-guide, Me&wife, & 1 other boat - and we operated in single file. It was AWESOME driving through the bays, past yachts, with beautiful shoreline scenery, on our way to the snorkel spot. The other couple in front of us slowed us down by being overly cautious . . . . so we did not go as fast as we wanted (not the tour's fault!). The only downside of the tour was the spot chosen for the snorkeling - the water was cloudy, murky, with really NOTHING to see. I had purchased my own full-face snorkeling equip and was very disappointed. It was supposedly a popular resort bay and maybe this was just a bad day. On the return boat-ride, Me&wife made sure we followed 2nd-in-line to the guide, so as not to be slowed by the other party. MUCH BETTER!!! We throttled up (behind the guide) for some more excitement. The slow couple (who had swapped drivers for the return) had to pick up their game a bit. But we made sure we waited if the gap grew to large. Hey! I'm not on a row-boat trip . . . .. open it up folks! The tour-guide let us rip but with professional responsibility. This was a great tour - the only negative was the very poor (non-existent) snorkeling sights. THANKS RHINO SAFARI EXCURSIONS for making this a fun event!

We booked this Rhino tour with a lot of excitement as a large group, including kids. We specifically chose this experience because it was advertised as a guided tour that included snorkeling and a visit to the famous airplane beach view in St. Maarten. From the moment we arrived, we were met with stress and a very unwelcoming attitude. Our guide, Alex, was not friendly or accommodating. In fact, we were told not to speak while he explained the “training,” which felt dismissive and uncomfortable. We also had to wait a long time for the boats to be prepared—they were still being fueled and repaired while we stood around. Once we finally got on the water, the experience didn’t improve. We were told there would be a lead guide and someone assisting from behind, but that never happened. Our group was left trying to keep up on our own, struggling to follow the leader. We were only taken to a small beach to eat—none of the promised stops, including snorkeling or the airplane beach, ever happened. Parking the boats was chaotic and stressful, with the guide yelling instructions that had never been explained during the training. To make matters worse, the equipment felt unsafe. The life vests were in poor condition, some boats were not fully inflated, others were taking on water, and a few stopped working altogether. Overall, the tour was disorganized, disappointing, and felt like a complete tourist trap. What we expected to be a highlight of our vacation turned into a stressful experience. We even ended up arriving late and had to rush back to the port, almost missing our cruise. I would not recommend this tour.

This company was a cluster from the moment we entered. Extremely disorganized, a guide (Alex) who was rude to customers and spent the majority of the time yelling and cursing at his crew. We paid for an excision that included snorkeling, going to airport beach and did not do any of it. Instead, we were waiting for the boats to get ready because they were not prepared for us. In addition to that, several of our boats were not safe to be in the ocean. Some broke down, ran out of gas and water was getting into them. Please look at ALL the reviews before booking! Rhino Tours is NOT EQUIPPED to handle groups. Members of our party were left STRANDED in the middle of the ocean due to all the malfunctions of the boats and our alleged guide abandoned them. We had to return to get them because he took off! Again, DO NOT BOOK with this company, they over promised and extremely UNDERDELIVERED. Very disappointing

We had a very disappointing experience with this company. I honestly don’t understand all the positive reviews—if you look further down, you’ll see others with similar concerns. I wish we had looked more carefully. We booked a private tour expecting a full experience that included snorkeling, visiting caves, and going to Airport Beach. Unfortunately, none of those activities were delivered. The boats were in poor condition, with multiple malfunctions during the trip (including boats breaking down and even running out of gas). The entire experience felt disorganized, stressful, and at times unsafe. Instead of enjoying the excursion, we were dealing with delays, breakdowns, and a guide (Alex) who was at times unprofessional. To make matters worse, we were delayed by about two hours returning to port, which caused us to scramble to get back to our cruise ship and nearly miss our boarding time. After the trip, I reached out to the owner multiple times to resolve the situation. He was difficult to get a hold of and, despite the fact that we did not receive the services we contracted for, only offered a partial refund. I would not book with this company again. The customer service was poor, the equipment was not properly maintained, and the experience did not match what was promised. You have been warned!

Due to windy conditions, we sat around waiting for 2 hours after our tour time. Due to the fact that we were coming from a cruise ship and he couldn’t tell us when, or if, we could go, he said he would refund us and we left. We spent about $200 for a cab for 6 people to get there and back for nothing. What angers me is that we are STILL waiting for our refund. VIATOR states they are not answering the phone. Regretting not getting in writing that we were unable to do this due to no fault of our own. Buyer Beware!

Showed up an hour early. Told it was over sold and tour was canceled. Too late to book any other tours. Day was ruined.

We booked our 3 hour tour for a 1 pm start time. We arrived at 1245 and signed in for our tour. Another group was ahead of us that was going with us on our tour. Then a third grouo cane in and signed in for their tour. At 1 pm they gave the third group their briefing for how to operate the boats and safety features which took intil aroind 120 pm. After that they loades them into the boats and watched as they made circles to get accustomto the boats, then they left out around 130 pm. Then we began our daftey briefing and how to operate our boats. Then at 150 we got in our boats and began to make our cricle of 4 boats from our group and we circled for 20 minutes while they added two more guest boats to our tour. We finally lefr thw dock area at 215 pm for our 1 pm tour. We had to be back by 430 to make sure we got back to our ship on time to leave. After an hour ride on the boats we stopped at friars beach for snorkle and drinks, which we were supposed to be able to get water from our guides which they dis not have. We had 30 minutes at the bwach and then back on our boats for the 1 hour trip back to the dock. If you do this tour I would recommend bringing a dry bag with you or you will have to either leave all your belongings in a basket at the dock or put them in the front of the boat storage area that has the gas tank. I gove it 3 stars because i enjoyed the boat ride, but they weren't veey punctual and for 100 dollars for the tour and 80 dollars for a cab ride back and forth I would not do this tour again.
