The food was fine, but hardly reflected Minneapolis. Tacos at a modern food court? Pizza that could have been from anywhere USA? Cheese curds (yes!) but at an upscale sports bar? Ice cream from a pleasant, but hardly special shop (or flavors)? The ONLY thing we had that met my expectations of “secret” or authentic Minnesotan fare were the pierogis from an old Polish deli. That said, Conor was an engaging and entertaining guide; the other guests were a lot of fun; and the walk was pleasant. It did not, however, offer any insights into regional cuisine or reveal any local “secrets”. The venues and menu items (save for the deli and pierogis) were unremarkable and unreflective. At the end of the tour, I was full but unsatisfied.

While Connor was a great guy, the tour was disorganized. None of the restaurants knew we were coming, portions were extremely limited, and we walked over a mile for one of our visits. Additionally, the tour said we would have six stops, but we only had four. On food tours we are used to learning more about the city and the restaurants that we are visiting. Unfortunately we did not learn much about either.

My family was in town for a wedding and wanted a fun/active experience for a few hours on Saturday afternoon! Maria was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. The food tasting were all really great and diversified. Beautiful fall colors on the trees by the river was an added bonus . We had a great time.

Connor was an excellent tour guide. He was well informed about the food and the city. He answered our many questions knowledgeably.

Our food tour was great. We live in the Twin Cities metro area and visited places that we had never been to before. We will definitely be visiting all of these places again in the future. Our tour guide Maria did a great job.
