The Mombacho Volcano has four craters. All of the craters are covered with cloud forest. This type of forest is only found on one other spot in the Pacific, and that is on the Maderas Volcano in Ometepe. You will have an amazing view.

What To Expect
The Mombacho Volcano has four craters. All of the craters are covered with cloud forest. This type of forest is only found on one other spot in the Pacific, and that is on the Maderas Volcano in Ometepe. On the Mombacho volcano, you can walk around one of the craters or hike around several craters. Besides lots of different trees and plants that thrive because of the cloud forest's humidity, you can also observe howler and white face monkeys, as well as snakes, deer, reptiles, birds, and insects. Several endemic species live on Mombacho. There are three types of trails: The Crater, El Tigrillo, and El Puma. The zip line spans more than 2 kilometers, features 17 platforms, 11 cables, and three hanging bridges, all set in a fantastic forest. Admire the beauty of Volcano Mombacho while swinging from tree to tree, like Tarzan in the jungle.

5.00Our tour guide Abbott was absolutely amazing and made our day so perfect!!! We did the full day tour to the Isletas, Mombacho and Apoyo lagoon. His knowledge of all the different animals and birds was so impressive!! He even knows how to identify the birds by their call!! We had the best time ziplining- the team at Cafe Las Flores on Mombacho volcano was so great with my parents- it was their first time zip lining! The coffee was also delicious and we bought so much to take home! Abbott was just such a joy and really was the most wonderful guide! Your company has been excellent thank you! We highly recommend you!!

5.00Such an amazing experience to be able to the zipline through the forest! I was blown away by the dedication and kindness of everyone right from the driver (Manuel) who picked me up on time and dropped me off accurately, to the guides working at the zipline canopy experience. Safety 10/10, go for it!

5.00Hiking the El Tigrillo trail was a stunning experience. You are literally hiking through a tropical forest that is on a volcano and inside a cloud. We encountered all kinds of wildlife-- neon colored frogs, families of monkeys, giant grasshoppers, exotic caterpillars, and more. Our guide also identified for us which plants are medicinal and which are toxic, as well as all of their various uses by indigenous peoples, and we visited multiple volcanic fumaroles. This is activity is an absolute must, and Welcome To Nicaragua has organized it to perfection.

5.00We did a half day tour of the Mombacho trails as well as a thrilling zipline adventure. We arranged it the evening before via Whatsapp and the next morning we were picked up by Pablo and Elizeth at our hotel. Elizeth was our guide for the day and explained us all about Mombacho, the wildlife and Granada. We felt very lucky to have her as our guide, since she really had a passion for being a tourist guide. We heard a lot about the country, the culture and got some good recommendations during the car ride. They were both so sincere, funny and spoke perfect English. We would recommend this company for anyone interested in doing day tours around the area or to arrange a full vacation in Nicaragua. They understand how to cater for each guest that they have.
