5.00Really good value for money. Saw black howler monkeys, range of bird species, manatees, and an excellent boat trip. Monkey island is fabulous and bought a few bits from the ladies where you get off the boat, they even had card machines. Tour guide was from the area and very good. Highly recommend. I know the tour guides would like the howlers to do their impressive call but once you see them I think its not necessary to provoke them to call. Still think it was an exceptional trip and would take it 100 times over.

4.00We had an awesome tour guide? Very knowledgeable and shared his history of growing up there. We saw huge iguanas, lots of birds, 1 alligator and some howler monkeys. The walk in the jungle was muddy, don’t wear flip flops or nice shoes. Tip your guide well and buy souvenirs. These folks live poorly and depend on our generosity.

5.00Our tour guide actually lives on the Monkey River. We were driven from Hopkins to Placencia to catch the tour boat. We saw many birds, crocodile, turtle and we left the boat for a short jungle walk. There we saw small red crab, fungi, blue crab, a large spider and Howler Monkeys. This jungle is teeming with life! We had a wonderful lunch in the guides village. When we left the village we went on to an area off the edge of a largish island to watch for manatee which we did see. They barely come to the surface and do a roll to gulp air and dive again. A delight day in the jungle and along the ins and outs of the many islands off the southern tip of Belize! Thank you Getting to Know Belize Adventures and their knowledgeable guides!!!
