We were fortunate enough to have Alberto for our tour guide for the mangrove tour today as well as at the Manuel Antonio National Park yesterday. We loved his passion for nature and conservation. He was such a great guide! The tour through the mangroves was a great way to wrap up our busy 10 day trip in Costa Rica. It was relaxing and informative. We saw lots of interesting birds as well as some snakes and monkeys as well. Our meal afterwards was delicious! It was such an enjoyable afternoon!

Last week a group of six of us went on the Damas Island Mangrove Boat Tour, led by Jeremy, and we had a great time. We saw brown pelicans, ibis, herons, iguanas and other animals along the banks, and Jeremy was super knowledgeable about the different types of mangroves and all of the flora and fauna in the area. What was really special was that on the bus on the way back to Manuel Antonio, our bus driver spotted a pair of scarlet macaws and pulled over onto the side of the road so we could get out of the bus to take some photos. This really made our day! We also really appreciated the meal at the end of the tour. Thank you, Tucanes Tours, especially Jeremy, our boat captain, and our bus driver. All of them helped us spot animals!

This was one of our favorite things we did while in MA. We had originally booked the kayaking trip but it was raining and the company offered to let anyone switch to the boat tour since it was covered. Even in the rain we had an amazing trip with Jeremy and saw SO MANY birds as well as a silky anteater which is an animal I didn’t even know existed! Truly memorable. Transport and lunch were easy breezy and we had a little bit of a late start due to some folks on the tour being late and not communicating well. The guide was so apologetic even though it wasn’t his fault at all and they threw in a free dessert. Also shout out to Hugo who was our kayak guide who gave us awesome info about the area on the bus ride over!

Went with Tucanes on a private Damas Island Magrove tour from Quepos. We didn't see monkeys as others have, but guide Brenda Vindas Jiménez showed us many birds--mostly herons and an egret-- I would not have spotted without her and taught us a lot about the mangrove ecosystem. We also learned a bit about the palm oil industry. Unexpectedly took us to breakfast after at Tucanes and a bit of a tour enroute back to the hotel. I would highly recommend her; she's quite knowledgeable and easy going.

This was a very scenic tour and our guide, Maria, was extremely knowledgeable. Both she and the the boat captain were extremely good at spotting wildlife. As well as birds we saw white faced monkeys close up. Information about the mangroves themselves was very interesting. Wifi at our hotel not good so sorry, no photos

100% recommended. The skinny guy knows the road perfectly and the trip on the "bus" was short. Our bilingual guide Alexis explained every detail of the mangroves to us and the food in the restaurant was a delight. When we return to Costa Rica we will not hesitate to book more excursions with them. Wow life!!

This is a great tour on the natural canals through the mangrove trees. Our guide Carla was fantastic, with great knowledge of the natural world, and super positive & helpful. We saw incredible wildlife (snakes such as the mangrove boas, cappucine monkeys, various beautiful birds, iguanas etc. ) After the tour we had a lovely early dinner at a local restaurant. We recommend this tour.

We did the boat tour through the mangroves of Isla Damas with guide Allan. It was a very interesting experience, we learned a lot about the fauna and flora of the place, about the 4 types of mangroves, the different animals that represent Costa Rica, about Costa Rican society... It was a very rich learning experience. At the end, Allan gave us a very rich banana!! It is advisable, widen your wisdom!!

My husband and I booked a private boat tour and not only enjoyed the scenery but learned much about the ecosystem. Our guide Johon (“yohan”) was very knowledgeable. By the end of the tour we were very well knowledged on the different types of mangrove trees and their importance. I mentioned my love for coconuts and he made a special stop to purchase a local treat on our way back. The dinner was simple but good. A local chef made dinner to order of rice, beans, veggies and a choice of meat. A vegetarian option is also available.
