What can I say — this place blew us away. Our tour was originally set for 7 a.m., but we shifted to a 1:30 p.m. departure, and everything flowed smoothly from there. We got picked up right from our hotel in La Boquilla and headed out to the farm. From the start, the experience was top-notch. Alejandro had already reached out to us by email, and the driver was incredibly kind, even offering us water for the ride. We made a quick stop in the Zona Rosa, which added a nice touch to the trip. When we arrived at Los Loros, we were welcomed so warmly by the staff — they were full of energy and kindness. They even had a beautiful spread of fresh fruit waiting for us, which we happily enjoyed. We got to learn all about the foundation’s work, especially their efforts with Amazon parrots who had been kept in cages and private homes. Seeing how well they were doing now — free, healthy, and thriving — was something special. The release projects were truly moving. We also got to see the Cotton-top tamarins, which was another incredible highlight. Honestly, the foundation is doing amazing things, and it felt like a real privilege to witness and support their mission in person. To top it off, we went horseback riding across the farm, taking in the stunning landscape. It was one of those unforgettable days that stays with yo

Our day at the Nature Reserve of Foundation Loros was the highlight of our trip to Colombia. The staff was very friendly and informed and taught us a lot about animal rehabilitation and reintroduction into the wild. It was great to actively participate as well, feeding the birds and monkeys. I would highly recommend going to Foundation Loros to anyone visiting the Cartagena area.
