But the adventure isn’t over yet. Marvel at the Screeching Bird Canyon, stand before the Arenoso Dam, and take in Jurassic Park-like landscapes as we drive through the Sierra de Espadán. This isn’t a rushed or scripted tour. It is a raw and immersive experience for those who crave a real escape.

5.00Incredible tour with a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. Many tours in this area are with incredibly large groups and visit tourist heavy locations. Kiumars is a tremendous guide (and speaks 6 languages!) who takes smaller groups to see some incredible spots around the area. The black lagoon is a highlight of the tour and is the definition of a hidden gem. This tour takes you off the beaten path and also offers plenty of great opportunities for photos. This tour is a MUST DO if you get the chance!

This is his passion and purpose and it's so very evident. And the tour itself is what dreams are made of! As a mom, wife and overall caregiver, this day was all about me! 5.00I did the tour alone, although thanks to Kiu and the energy that is created, the experience never feels lonely. We started the day at the Fountain of the Baths of Montanejos, where I bathed in its hot springs (even with rain!), explored hot water seeps, entered a cavity where the water turns from a hypnotic turquoise, and was surprised by a small waterfall of cold water. I didn't expect a cloudy day to add as much to the experience. Throughout the day we followed the river upstream, with strategic stops that Kiu knows to the millimeter. From local anecdotes to small corners that go unnoticed by the untrained eye, your guide transforms what could be just a nice walk into a rich, immersive and, above all, human experience. We ate at a village restaurant where they clearly knew and appreciated Kiu. That detail shows: food tastes better when you are greeted with warmth. More than a customer, you feel like you're part of something. The golden clasp was a brief meditation in front of the Arenoso reservoir. Pure calm. It was one of those moments when time stops and you reconnect. Kiu is enthusiastic, dynamic and very respectful. Always watch for you to make the most of the tour — and to take a good picture of yourself, of course. He has that weird balance between knowing when to accompany and when to leave space. Connect with both local people and you, making the experience social if you want, or introspective if you need it. Don’t worry if you go it alone – this is the kind of plan you enjoy just as much or more like this. I would repeat this tour every few months, both to the same place and to discover new routes. Ideal for those who seek to reconnect with nature, self and authenticity.
