5.00Our guide Gustavo was great. He teaches English to middle school students so his English was better than your typical guide. We arranged with Gustavo in advance to Old Town area rather than the area around the Rambla where our hotel was located. The Old Town area is much more interesting; we saw lots of palaces, museums, markets, and went to the top of the City Hall for a 360 degree panaramic view of Montevideo. Gustavo was very enthusiastic, and a pleasure to spend the half day with. He was very interesting to talk to generally about the history and current events of Uruguay. By the way, make a lunch reservation at Jacinto for after the tour; great lunch place in Old Town.

5.00Alejandro took us on a specially curated tour of the Museo de Memoria and a former prison during the 1970s-80s dictatorship, now art museum. We wanted to learn more about the Tupamaros and the political resistance, and Alejandro answered all of our questions and generously shared some of his family’s history. We really enjoyed our time with this smart, knowledgeable guide.

She took us to all the important places, explained everything throughly, and even recommended a very nice restaurant to go to dine as well as an incredible artisan place where we bought quality souvenirs from Uruguay.

5.00Our tour guide, Gustavo, gave me and my 11-year old daughter an excellent tour. He was very sophisticated, knowledgeable, and cultured. Talking to Gustavo was just as much fun as all the fun facts he told us about Montevideo and Uruguay. His English perfect and his knowledge about not only Uruguay and South America but the world as well was exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Gustavo and hope to visit Montevideo again. We loved Uruguay and the people, food, sites, culture, and history. I highly recommend Gustavo if you want a high quality tour of Montevideo!

1.00Our experience was embarrassing. Alejandro might be a nice person, but he in fact can’t explain himself in English. Struggling to find the words and simply put the frases together. We had to politely finish the tour after 1hr of trying to be friendly - it felt like starving. I put it simply: No storyline for the tour, no plot. And, gosh, no fluent English at all. I wish Alejandro all the best, but positioning himself as an English speaking guide is simply misleading for the clients. Worst tour of my life.

We went on a nice walking tour and he was very informative and easy to talk to. We asked a lot of questions and he answered everything with even more information.
